Levi’s 511 Commuter Skinny Jeans

Levi’s introduces Commuter by Levi’s – clothing designed and optimized specifically for the needs of the urban commuter cyclist. Arriving in select Levi’s Stores this week is the 511 and Trucker Commuter products, both integrating an array of features that address cyclists performance, convenience, safety, mobility and protection needs while maintaining the durability and classic styling that people expect from the Levi’s brand. Featured here is a peek into the 511 Skinny Jean, Levi’s’ most popular skinny fit for men. The 511 Commuter features fabric and construction upgrades that increase mobility and durability, while protecting cyclists from the potential hazards of their daily commute. The jeans come available in two styles – a full-length and cropped version – and both denim and non-denim fabrics. All Commuter by Levi’s products blend form and function by utilizing the most cutting-edge performance apparel technologies. Partnering with Swiss-based Schoeller Technologies AG, Levi’s is the first to introduce NanoSphere® treatment into denim fabrication, making the fabric water resistant, dirt repellant and more durable. All Commuter products also feature Sanitized™ hygiene function, which provides protection against odors for long-lasting freshness and comfort, and 3M Scotchlite™ which subtly integrates 300,000 candle watt reflectivity into key areas of the garments. Retail is set at $78 USD.

    I gotta pair of these over the weekend! just saw this post now. Went with the khaki twill chino-esque ones. There’re also some black knicker type shorts offered too. They fit comfy, they’re not super “skinny” least not to me. Cant wait to ride em!

    You kind of have to be in love with American manufacturing to buy Outlier (which I have, several times), but Levi’s has that Urban Outfitters hipster fixie market on lock. That said, this is a genius pair of pants for what they’re worth.

    To Danny D: In what way? In many ways, Levi’s is more Nike than Nike. They are just a privately held company so their successes are not as big of a fucking deal to everyone– therefore less hype and little advertisement or endorsement.     In the cyclists country of the netherlands, add in the frequent rain, this is what I really want!
    And concerning skinny jeans, the 511 is not even that skinny, and if you cannot wear skinny jeans because you are big, or just because you dont think it is comfortable, just dont wear em. they will probably make more cuts in the commuter series as demands rise.
    and you dont wanna know what we here in europe pay for frikkin levi’s you already get upset about $80, while that is the starting price for levi’s around here.

    Damn I hate how people make such a big deal about the fit of someone’s jeans. Like others have said, if you are a small person, wear skinny jeans and if you aren’t, then don’t. I am a fucking rail so skinny jeans are what is comfortable for me. These are nice.

    Skinny Jeans aren’t even that bad, they’re just pants! They’re not skin-tight or anything. I’m a skinny mofo so I wear them…i’m not gonna wear something un-flattering….Levi’s make the best jeans because they have something for everyone.  You can be 80 years old and still wear Levi’s.

    I ride to and from work most of the year and it would be awesome if I didn’t always have to look like a cycling douche-bag when riding through the rain, with my water proof gear. Good lookin’ out Levis. Somebody had to do it. Glad it was you.

    What’s amazing here is the pricepoint. You can’t even get a pair of cycling trousers (with Schoeller treatment) for that price. And here, you get a pair of Levi’s denim with weatherproofing and cycling specific features for under $80. Unreal.
