Dockers introduce an all-new product to their line-up with the ‘Alpha’ khaki. The promotion of the new style features a partnership with New York barbershop, The Blind Barber. Despite opening within the last year or so, The Blind Barber’s penchant for quality cuts in a subdued lifestyle environment has created a strong fan base around the East Village establishment. The ‘Alpha’ khaki combines the sensibilities of a pair of denim including a slimmer fit, lower rise and beefier construction with the comfort of your favorite pair of khakis. Much like raw denim, some of the khakis are a blank slate ready to break-in over time to offer its own unique aesthetic and fit relative to the owner. Upping the ante for construction methods, the khaki styles include “reinforcement, topstitching and over-lock seaming details, along with some of the dressed-up touches of a more tailored trouser. Similar to a pair of jeans, the ‘Alpha’ is cut from heavier-weight khaki fabrics specifically selected to wear, wrinkle and age in ways denim would soften and break in over time.” With an August release on the horizon, the khakis will range from $68 USD to $128 USD for limited editions with 12 different colors via retailers such as Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, Bloomingdale’s and American Rag.
