A ’90s hip-hop classic, the original Timberland 6” boot has been enjoying a resurgence in popularity over the past few years, having undergone collaborative redesigns by the likes of Rag & Bone, 10 Deep and colette among other companies. New from the iconic American workwear brand comes a boot produced with mastermind JAPAN, the high-fashion label founded in 1997 by Masaaki Honma, who has a clear penchant for skulls and crossbones. The boots remain in their standard wheat color, however, they have been outfitted with front zipper-closure, twisted lace endings reminiscent of boat shoes, a mastermind JAPAN logo stamped on the heel, and two jolly rogers – one embossed on the left tongue and the other a silver pin clutching to the side of the shoe. As the mastermind label often doesn’t produce more than three of their designs, expect this collaborative Timberland boot to be available in highly limited quantities for Spring/Summer 2012.
