ellesse Pop-Up Shop & Coffee House London Opening

Italian sportswear brand ellesse has been around since 1959, when it was founded by a disgruntled tailor who couldn’t find any clothing for skiing that was to his liking. After expanding to tennis, soccer, running and more, the label has now established itself as a colorful addition to the landscape of modern urban lifestyle brands. New from ellesse comes this pop-up shop and coffee house in London. Combining the company’s more street and skate-oriented clothes and sneakers with another distinctly Italian trend, coffee, ellesse’s whimsical new retail outlet is an ideal spot to drop by for some quick shopping, a cup of joe or perhaps both. Open through August.

because ellesse is from an era of sportswear and streetwear which was exactly that – bright and garish. unlike most brands they haven’t refined their clothing to the realms of mundane subtlety which is offered by nike, adidas, reebok etc. for ellesse to not be bright and garish would be for them to conform and shy away from what they were renowned for.

why not? i think it looks pretty funky. not everything has to be as monotonous and boring as possible in order to try to be more classy than the others
