In celebration of the 2011 French Open tournament, Nike has designed a new tennis shoe style inspired by the “King of Clay” himself, Rafael Nadal. Having won five of his eight appearances at the French Open, the Spaniard is unarguably the best there is and, to keep up with his aggressive playing style, Nike had to create a sneaker that was both durable and responsive. With a hexagon pattern on the upper to maximize surface area for better ventilation, the Air Max Courtballistec 3.3 also features a dual-density TPU upper, enmeshed inner sleeve, Lunarlon midsole and an encapsulated Max Air cushioning unit in the heel.
