In 1942 Converse enlisted, turning its attention to support the war effort and producing a sneaker that went on foot in the good name of freedom and independence. Four years later, Converse was outfitting American soldiers headed off to basic training. And now, after nearly 7 decades, the iconic brand is reissuing 200 limited-edition pairs of the archive-inspired sneaker, each featuring the original government contract number 50475 stamped on the inside of the distressed canvas uppers, original toe box pattern, ankle patch and outsole design. Available now through the Converse online store, priced at $85 USD.
