Toronto’s multi-medium artist, Bryan Espiritu had his first solo art-show “Because The Kids Don’t Play”. The artist’s inaugural show on Friday the 13th was one of the city’s largest solo art shows in history. It showcased a collection of Bryan’s Fully Wholly characters on 56 canvases – 21 digital prints and 35 digital prints hand-inked in KRINK. The main inspiration for the show is the affects of parental neglegence on children dealing with adult issues ranging from abuse, sex, violence and suicide. These issues are reflected through the disturbing representations of childrens icons and further explained through a piece Bryan wrote to support each character.
