The adidas Stan Smith was released one year before its actual release date in 1965, under the name of the French tennis player Robert Haillet. After replacing Haillet for American tennis pro Stan Smith, the shoe developed into one of the most iconic adidas silhouettes ever. The sneaker’s natural progression has led to several different variations, with the Stan Smith 80s being the latest. Although still quite simple in its design approach, this new edition of the Stan Smith 80s highlights the usually risky approach from adidas Originals, sporting an iridescent colorway that shifts as you move. Surely the design isn’t for everyone, but it’s always refreshing to see adidas continuously take chances. For those interested, they are now available through Schuh-You.
