Tyler The Creator’s album ‘Bastard’ was a concept album following his thoughts portrayed in a patient/ shrink situation, and I think this is essentially his style, his raps are more a flow of consciousness than anything anything else in a similar way to MF Doom (I am not comparing Tyler or OF to MF Doom I am just saying that their styles are similar, Doom is the best rapper of all time in my opinion and made it possible for OF to even be possible). So i do not understand anybody having any moral opposition to Tyler as he is just saying what he feels (everybody thinks stuff they are not supposed to but never say it due to morals so does that make you s bad as him?)

When I first heard of OF l I think I heard a stream of French, I pretty much had the same opinion you, hold then I kept seeing dudes on the blogs so I decided to give the full Bastard album a listen and after you strip away all the cliche rape murder stuff you have some great material. The beats are ill specifically the drums and chord progressions used, Tyler has an ill voice and he can flow, real meat and potatoes hip hop shit. The things that made me really interested though are the subjects that he touches on that usually get overlooked or shunned from a black male in hip hop perspective, things like actually expressing your feelings for an absent parent. I equate it to Jay-z on songs like regrets and you must love me perspectives that seemingly come out of left field because of all the posturing in rap but everyone knows they are there because we are all human..
