JW Anderson’s 2010 Fall/Winter Collection represents a scrapbook of thoughts based on the notion of the Saint and the Assassin. A collection full of contradiction – the romanticism of the Irish countryside is juxtaposed with paramilitary references. The contradictory theme of the collection is at its most obvious within the accessories – L.O.V.E and H.A.T.E rings reiterate a struggle between aggression and romanticism; the word Mizpah – a reference to the emotional bond between two people separated by either physicality or death – is emblazoned on pieces throughout the collection.
