PUMA unveil a special project with Korean label General Idea, helmed by one of Korea’s youngest and brightest designers, Bumsuk Choi. The focal point of their union is two special versions of PUMA’s retro runner, the Disc Blaze. Marked by its “at the time” innovative fastening system, the sneaker incorporates some sentimental aspects that inspire Choi. At the root of the sneaker is a music and fashion concept with references to one of Choi’s favorite brands, Deulgukhwa. The design’s aesthetic is inspired by turntables and equalizers while the print comes courtesy of Deulgukwa’s 8th track on their debut album. The General Idea x PUMA General Idea Disc Blaze will release next month at select Korean retailers only. More information can be seen at the General Idea x PUMA micro-site.
