Mike West: The Visions of an Independent

With a lifeline spanning almost two decades, 686 and founder Mike West have fiercely maintained their independent standing. With an insatiable thirst for learning and developing visions through his own means, West and the brand has come to define itself remarkably. This has come on the heels of both self-created technical features as well as lifestyle movements with the likes of fellow American brands, New Balance and Levi’s among others. We take a trip to the former 686 offices as well as go along for a food truck run to get to know Mike West.
