October 30, 2010Musicby Petar Kujundzic44 Views

Continuing in his G.O.O.D. Friday-series Kanye West has once again brought together an impressive line up for “The Joy”. Produced by legendary beatsmith Pete Rock, the song contains a Curtis Mayfield-sample while Kanye, Jay and Cudder provide the rhymes. It remains to be seen if “The Joy” will make the cut of ‘Ye and Jay-Z’s announced Watch The Throne-project which is now being recorded. Check it out below.

slamy, you are a troll. so will people just stop responding to this dumbass.
and the track is dope. the world knows about kanye, jayz and pete rock. they are internationally famed ARTISTS who take time to write the lyrics AND produce beats. waka flocka is only known in the states, and then again, a small part of it. just give up.

this shit is sick. everybody is entitled to their opinions and views (in response to slamy), but notice, the only southern rappers that actually had longevity in the game have all been lyrical (ie; Bun B, Scarface, Ludacris, TI (somewhat), OutKast, etc), even wayne was lyrical when he first came out. all im saying is if u enjoy that crunk shit or whatever, do so. but its def not gonna last. not with the rebirth of lyricism. that is all.

See, this is possibly the best argument against unregulated internet access ever (unwittingly) posted.

Lyrics/ NY Hip Hop is back.
    Die slow. (Chant that.)

Thumbs up for being passionate though.

First bars set the tone but final bars are the coveted 16- won not given.
But you’re right, there’s now reason Pete should have gotten some on this.
This track aside, for my $$, lyrically, hungry ‘Ye is back this year. Looking frw…

  • traphik

stop trollin’ on every single lyrical song, don’t try convincing us to hate lyricism with ur bull statements because your statements only prove that we need more lyricism before that crap you advocate for destroys what real music we have left.

Yes please do some research before you make strange comments like that since every body not living in the south enjoys good lyricism. Also, it isn’t cool to like your own comments.

Slamy.. i get your whole ” im gonna be the dude that sparks controversy and gets people to have me” shit, but sorry to say if you REALLY represent the “youth” of today – you muthafuckas are LOST!! Waka Flaka couldnt even finish his OWN verses at the BET awards so he BETTA have some bass in the trunk or ANYTHING to cover up the fact that he has NO LYRICS. Crunk music is cool as far as being too high to comprehend anything wittier than and A.B.C. rhyme scheme but Crunk is DEAD (it died at birth) Rappers are a dime a dozen – Artists are priceless! Go GET YOUR CHANGE.. truly yours, Big ILLANOIZE & the Class Of 88′!

Hardly qualifies as a lineage if the chopped and screw shit is younger than some of my boxer briefs. You might want to do a tad more research before you start wailing on something you know little about.

  • Slamy

i cant belive it. ive been writing about it for a while now. all these dam lyrycs are just ruining things. i want everyone to clear their mind and try and think of one thing said on this track that means a dam thing. lyrisicsm is killing rap. i know its contoversial to say but a person like waka flaka is way more the future then this rehashed jive. if you like this type of lyrical content then you are a person holding on to a dying flame. its all nonsense folks. we only wanna here some gutta grunts, some dope boy chants. please peole lets give this up. lets not argue anout the value of lyrics, its a dead issue. the youth hates this shit. just let the dam bass ride, grip that wood grain and beautiful purp. this song here puts us to sleep, this sheet aint got an ounce of crunk. the new gen hates all that recycled native tongue garbage. we about that gangsta groove, chopped and screwed lineage. all this is dead lettuce. please dont argue folks. just sperad the ghospel and give up on these foolish lyrical sprees. read a book instead. get your roll on fools. gangsta foreva.
