ISAORA 2011 Spring/Summer Collection

The last few seasons have seen New York-based technical brand ISAORA grow steadily with each collection. With inspirations derived from the intersection of performance and fashion, it has been the goal of the brand to introduce a collection that showcases the possibilities when accounting for both of these facets. Next season’s spring/summer direction includes many layering options with some more loosely fitted pieces. Also on the horizon is a previously previewed collaboration with Porter.

    the look of shorts over longer length material for the bottom started with leggings, not pants (sweats, jeans, or otherwise). this was an extension of “dance” fashion where the functionality of leggings in the sport/art of dancing was embraced by the rest of us when leggings slimmed and lengthened the silouette while giving warmth during colder seasons. however, leggings alone often did not flatter those with skinny or large butts, nor were they approriate within some cultures. Thus, shorts, skirts, etc were layered to give it more coverage. men began to adopt them more recently – includ. japan as mentioned previously, however wrongly, since they are mainly legging type material and not denim pants or sweat pants per se. the main argument that i’d like to make is – when u r a grown man, would u look good or would u look simply contrived or even silly wearing such combinations? again, personally it just looks contrived and fussy.

    if performance/fashion is the idea, what is the point of wearing shorts over pants (of any material combination)? is that performance? if so, what functionality would that serve? is that fashion? if so, i personally feel it’s ugly and NOT fashionable. anyways, that’s just my $0.02

    I like the outfits and the futuristic direction there trying to go into but the short over the jeans idea is horrible. The white shorts over the sweat pants doesn’t look bad it looks like you can pull that off. But Shorts over jeans looks tacky.
