Lauryn is one of the baddest artist in hip hop. She has a style of her own, in which her creativity couldn’t put her in a box. All her material, even with the Fugees have substance. She is saying something of sense and not bullshit.

The caption says “a previously unreleased track” which means this isn’t new. It’s just one that they recently discovered. I saw her on a guest appearance show not that long ago and she didn’t sound anything like this. I truly hope she has her life together and comes back with the talent that she once possessed.

Shes singin about the existential Pain of Black Womenhood in America. Relate or no, its a beautiful piece, kid. Oh, what a voice! I love how she sometimes holds out a rich ululation, and with so much raw emotion. Then in the second first drop a giggle, in the same recording!

As far as the beat, uh disgusting! Im not sure if this is a new joint or a old unreleased diddy, but its a bear! Growl! Irrelevent? That guy needs to look outside of his own reality. I.e look at the world around you, other music around you. The feel has someSa Ra elements, but also a Flying Lotus experimentation, but smooth like Nujabes…and the voice is non-other than L. Who could ever combine true hip-hop with soul r&b like er’.

And the crazy bit…lay off folks! First shes an aritst. Second, i defy anyone here to open themselves up to the creative process, to walk around third-eye wide open, fearful and give honest answers to the internal questions about: love, life, family, God, society, the existential war between interior vs exterior blackness….man!
