so much hate on bape/bbc, but i guarantee supreme did this and it would be the dopest drop ever, i just don’t get, bape kinda died but they have been comin through with so nice product, most people who hate cant afford it or are just trend jumpers, so when supreme losses steam and a new brand emerges, we will see i hate supreme, all clothing companies go through hot phases and then die down

look those skate shoes nowadays, don’t you think they all look same? that’s the way!!! everyone took ideas from others and add on their own stuff, approperation =/=plagiarism. and not only BAPE, many other Japanese companies do the same way, although they don’t invent the original ideas, but they borrow the ideas and change them and develop them to another level…Today, it’s almost impossible to create something totally new, because we all get influenced and inspired since the day we born, all our knowledge is learned from others, that’s the nature. the point is not about invention (but if you can invent some new, that’s great!!!), is more about bring the good commodities to the buyers.

Thank you, Treverin! When are people going to realize that Bape’s been reinterpreting popular silhouettes since the beginning of it’s shoe line? Or the fact that Nigo/Bape has relationships with all the footwear companies that you all claim he’s ripping off? And lastly, if no one’s noticed yet, Bape is based primarily on the idea of putting a childish hip-hop themed twist on pop culture; Planet of the Apes + funky fashion, Air Force 1′s + funky colors and materials, Puma Suede’s + fat laces and funky materials, Hooded sweatshirts/Army jackets/Dress shirts + Childlike attitude and odd color choices. I’m not in full endorsement of where Bape’s aesthetic has been lately, but I’ve always respect and admired what Nigo has created- one of the original entities that gobbles up classic pieces of pop culture and regurgitates them on an audience that is willing and able to pay a premium price in the name of ‘originality’. Look up what the phrase ‘A bathing ape in lukewarm water’ meant in early 90′s Japan, and you’ll all realize what Bape has been doing for years. Thanks for reading, sorry for the essay.
