Teaming up with Converse on this latest campaign, professional basketball player Shammgod talks about his youth growing and how hours of dribbling eventually became a routine for the former Washington Wizards player. He also talks about his signature move and how “shaking his shadow” became an obsessive goal to improve his handles.

    Yeah this is a great post. He was and is a legend. People know him for having the best name in sports history but the guys has so much more.. He represents NY so well. Creativity, originality and swagger. I wish I could find out more about this dude, always been a fan!

    Nice. I remember him when he was at Prividence and going head to head against Mike Bibby and Miles Simon of that Arizona team that won the National Championship. I always thought he should have returned to school and not entered the draft that year.

    It’s too bad he never quite made it in the NBA. In fact, I remember reading a Sports Illustrated with Kobe Bryant and Magic on the cover (when Kobe was about 19 – dont remember???) and the article said that Kobe would learn his streetball tricks from him when they were both teens in the AAU circuit.

    Kids these days know about the Shammgod move but they dont know who Shammgod is. Kudos to Hypebeast for this.
