A Bathing Ape x United Arrows “Mr. Bathing Ape” 2010 Spring/Summer Collection Launch

Today marked the launch of A Bathing Ape’s latest diffusion line, “Mr. Bathing Ape”. Co-created with respected Japanese retailer United Arrows, the collection is a marked change from the usual direction of A Bathing Ape. And while A Bathing Ape has seen a diversification of its collections over the last few seasons, the Mr. Bathing Ape collection takes things to a different level with an emphasis on suits, shirts and ties.

BAPE lost my respect years a go when their so called “patent leather” trainers which are actually vinyl bubbled up and teared on me. If they stood by their quality the associates at the NYC shop would have exchanged them for me no questions asked, but they didn’t. This brand isn’t made to withstand time, now if you compared Visvim to a Ferrari or an Aston Martin I wouldn’t argue with that. Bape is more like a toyota that needs to be re-called.

    The good people of BAPE informed me this will be released in Japan only through United Arrows shops. It isn’t likely this first release will be sent to shops anywhere else but if it does well, more in store in the future for BAPE and higher end clothing.
