Streets of Plenty – Vancouver’s Downtown Homeless

In just a few days, a large portion of the world will focus its attention to the city of Vancouver and the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. And while the city of Vancouver has been the benefactor of much praise over the years as a city of culture and beauty, an increasingly large problem has been the homeless population and the rampant drug use among this demographic. Streets of Plenty takes a thorough look into the average life of a homeless person in Vancouver’s downtown eastside. The month-long social experiment is an authentic perspective ranging from the use of hardcore drugs to the violence and social issues that plague this pocket of Vancouver. Below is the full 65 minute documentary broken down into 7 parts.

    The mayor of Vancouver said the “dead end of addiction” that is a reflection of how he views the homelessness problem?
    Great documentary, I love how he embodied the “typical homeless person” when he was high on down yelling at his brother; swearing, overreacting. That was my favourite, the truth and humanity it presented and related to these people.

    This documentary is REAL. It’s sad but it’s true I’ve been to Vancouver nd it’s not like any other city I’ve ever seen before they do use right in the streets. I dunno but it’s sad but I think all those homeless ppl r helpless no on can help them it starts with them.

Its root is stemmed from ADDICTION.. Which is very true and not just for a city like Vancouver, but a majority of metropolitan areas around the USA, European counrties, and etc around the world..
