Director and photographer Ryan McGinley has helmed an incredible visual concerning athleticism during upcoming 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver for The New York Times. Here’s the story on Lightness Of Being An Olympian:

While many of the athletes at the Vancouver Olympic Games will count on gravity to do its work as they try to get to the bottom of their racecourses, others will be going in the opposite direction – up in the air.

In addition to this amazing video, McGinley has also shot a photo essay entitled “The Highfliers” with captive images depicting his protagonists in action.

Check out the images below or at The New York Times.
