The weekend saw the launch of the exclusive New Balance Feral Creation Collection, a pack of four NB 999 sneakers designed by Leftfoot and Mita Sneakers. Media from all over the Asian region gathered at the trendy Helipad rooftop lounge to witness the unveiling of the latest New Balance Project in the region that – for the first time ever – brought together two of the leading sneaker retailers from Singapore and Japan to work on a pack of shoes.
Guests were treated to a visual showcase of art installations by acclaimed Singaporean design firm Phunk Studio, who applied their well seasoned skills to create Peacock and Lion inspired installations, which left Japanese illustrator/graphic designer Sneakerwolf to leave his mark on the Crow and Mouse installations.
Lastly, a party isn’t a party if people aren’t getting crazy – no worries there as Singapore’s very own The Great Spy Experiment brought their brand of rock and roll music to pump up the crowd and Taiwan’s DJ Mykal made his debut Singaporean performance alongside Malaysia’s dynamic duo, Lapsap aka DJ Blink and DJ XU. The guys set the party alight with their unique mix of loud and hard electro/dance/indie/mashup, causing more than a few people to leave Tuesday night with a Wednesday morning hangover.
