Perhaps one of the lesser known camera brands around, Ricoh has been extremely consistent with its releases which have often exhibited a number of leading features. From the quickness of the GRD series to the reliable wide-angle GX series, the Japanese camera brand has unveiled a new camera with some interesting characteristics, the point&shoot CX1. One of the new features include its ability to process in-camera HDR (High-Dynamic Range) images which gives you results such as the one seen by 13thWitness over at the HYPEBEAST blogs. HDR in itself has traditionally required post-processing to achieve the effect by combining four separately exposed images into one but it has yet to be integrated into a point&shoot format. While the act is sometimes overdone, the CX1 offers four different levels of integration. Other features include a 120 fps movie mode, 9.3 MP CMOS sensor and a 28mm-200mm focal length. The camera is slated for a mid-March release. For more information including technical specs check Ricoh.com.
