This month marks the start of a monthly initiative on behalf of Stussy DC as the two year old chapter will begin a roll-out of exclusive t-shirts. Among the first release is the Chocolate City t-shirt based on its affiliation with funk band Parliament back in 1975 and the “Chocolate City” album. The t-shirt is available now at Stussy DC.

Almost two years after opening their doors the Stussy DC Chapter is set to begin the monthly release of tees exclusive to the nations capital. This new program will drop new styles monthly and will feature artwork from different artists and designers such as Eric Elms, Omar Quiambao, Jason Rodman and more. Expect to see graphics that reflect the cities aesthetics and culture, as well as original artwork by visiting artists and designers.

The month of December ‘09 marks the first month of the Stussy DC Chapter program, and slated to release first is the “Chocolate City” tee. Chocolate City being a nickname given to Washington D.C. by the legendary funk band Parliament in 1975. P-Funk enjoyed the love the city showed to the now legendary band and immortalized D.C. in their album “Chocolate City”.

The second tee being released features the artwork of Eric Elms. The internationally recognized artist/designer was commissioned by the DC Chapter in 2008 to create two art-installation pieces for the shop. The “My Way All Day” tee is a two dimensional representation of his sculpture that adorns the shop.

The “Chocolate City” and “My Way All Day” tees will be released this Saturday at Stussy DC.
