Banksy Regent’s Canal Artwork

December 21, 2009Uncategorizedby Staff1112 Views

An occurrence more frequent in the earlier part of the year, renowned street artist Banksy makes his mark yet again with a new piece placed near Regent’s Canal in Camden. The new stencil work takes on a political stance as usual, following the lack of a formal treaty being implemented as the climate talks in Copenhagen end. Definitely another impressive piece of art from the mysterious Banksy.

Am I wrong in concluding that Bansky’s cover work is in fact showing the workman pasting the graffiti ONTO the blank wall (see the roll in his arm and the flaps of the “wallpaper”). Rather than obscuring Robbo’s work, perhaps he was highlighting it once again?

I agree with Adrian. Banksy is completely overratted. In fact, he’s a bit of a one trick pony. Beyond that, he went over a piece by a King. You have to have respect for the game and those who paved the road you’re traveling on. Banksy just showed his ego trumps that respect. That’s some Toy shit and where i’m from would be cause for beef.

Come on, Adrian. Don’t be a miserable old cynic….. nobody is saying he’s the only one, or even the best, but he has produced a new interest and understanding of street art, and for that he deserves credit and appreciation. He would be the first to point towards and defer to other simialr artists, but we can still praise and appreciate him.
He’s carefully and creatively mixed popular politics, skilful street art ,and humour and I, for one, thank him for that. And I appreciate all the others also….

Yes, this is all well and good. Its funny and its clever, but its not the best thing since sliced bread. Banksy is not all that, there are better street artists than him.
