pharrell williams moncler collaboration vest Pharrell Williams x Moncler Collaboration

Having announced a partnership with Visvim earlier this year, Italian down company Moncler continues their good form having just released details of another collaboration, this time with Pharrell Williams and his textile company, Bionic. Using his companies technology, which recycles bottles and turns it in to yarns and fabric, Pharrell has designed a reversible puffer vest – inspired by a traditional bullet-proof vest . The lining of the jacket has a print designed by Japanese artist, Keita Sugiura, who is known for his nature inspired creations.

The Visvim and Pharrell collaborations will be part of a new collection from the italian based based company called, Moncler V. This collection will have the company work on numerous projects with various artists around the world. Stockiest and release dates to come.

This is just not very interesting. The idea of plastic fabrics is cool, but you have to make something worth while from it, or your just turning trash in to trash…

well pharrell isn’t that innovative. the arts and crafts store, Joann, sells fabric made from plastic bottles for like 4 bucks a yard. i bet this vest costs from $800-1000

Has this been done before? If not, good on Pharrell for jumping on this idea, I never thought of doing a play on a bulletproof vest but it was staring everyone right in the face.

Recycles bottles and turns it them into fabrics? Maybe Mr. Pharrell doesn’t get enough credit out here…
