Unveiled is a closer look into a couple of new styles from the Mark Ronson for Gucci footwear collection. The shoes will be a part of a pop-up store tour, which kicks off on October 24th, 2009 in New York City. Further details can be found below:

A new limited edition Gucci Ronson sneaker will be introduced at each international destination of the tour, in addition to an exclusive edition of 18 sneaker styles in the GUCCI ICON-TEMPORARY sneaker collection. Each design includes silver or gold metal dog tags as well as an embroidered ‘Limited Edition’ label inscribed inside the shoe. Customers’ initials can be embossed onto a customized leather tag on the shoe laces, if desired.

Conceived as true collector’s items, each GUCCI ICON-TEMPORARY sneaker comes with unique packaging designed specifically for each city on the international tour. The limited edition Gucci Ronson sneaker will also have its own exclusive packaging.

The first GUCCI ICON-TEMPORARY store will debut at Crosby Street in New York on October 24th, when Frida Giannini and Mark Ronson will host a celebratory kick-off party. The store will then remain open for just two weeks. In December, GUCCI ICON-TEMPORARY will move from New York to Miami. It will then move to select cities in Europe and Asia such as London and Tokyo.

Though Gucci and Ronson have been calling them sneakers, they appear to technically be more like boat shoes, which are far less sexy-sounding. Ronson told us in August that he expected prices to be around $500. [Racked, Hypebeast] [...]

    Rule number 1

don’t let pop stars design shoes – 99% of the time they will be awful!

i’m amazed brands haven’t learnt this yet… nevermind the people buying them!

Chris Money, I respect your opinion but severely disagree. First off, so your saying that these look better than Kanyes offering? Being that he was Integral in heightening the visability of a “High End” boat shoe, I sincerely think that Kanye stepped out of the box and took several risk (Which is key to great design) with that shoe namely the heel. And nobody was doing a high end boat shoe (Except for Visvim). Greedy Genius Ocean Runner “Big Blue” looks 10 times better than this at a FRACTION of the cost. What if Ye’ released this would you still “Appreciate IT”?…….Come on Fam DON”T PISS ON MY BACK AND TELL ME IT”S RAINING, YOU KNOW THIS SHOE IS SOME BULLSHIT!

The silver tag is the best thing about these, and that’s not saying a lot.

Leave designers to the designing for footwear that costs that average person’s monthly wage.

First off, Kanye’s LV collaboration was ridiculously overhyped. If you take his name out of the equation and seriously look at the different models he “designed”, they’re all far from special… I can appreciate Mark’s designs here. He’s going for a simplistic but classic look with a little flare via the colorway, which Gucci is known for in their designs.

    ATTN: lbn, you’re an idiot.

who in the vastness of Gucci gave approval to these?? I wanna know what managing supervisor looked at these and said “you know what, these are THE TITS!!!! EVERYONE’S GONNA WANT THEM!!”

OK, i really want the first one..the blue one.

Does anyone know how much they’ll go for….like an estimate as to what i should carry to the store?

These are bad, really bad. And I don’t mean that in the good way kind of bad.

Those are so wack, colour scheme’s are terrible. They look cheap, Mark Ronson has no style and never will, he just wears what everyone else is already on.

Heard about this some time ago, and I was anxious to see Mark’s input, being that he is an “Aficionado”. Sorry to say that this is not impressive for a signature collection from “Gucci”. Also staying with a boat shoe silhouette is pretty basic and non imaginative. Plus if i’m tryin to put something out rediculous and “classic”, I would have been paying attention that KANYE WEST DELIVERED A BOAT INSPIRED L.V. SHOE THAT IS INSANE. I know my opinion don’t mean sh@t but phuck it it’s a blog.
