John Mayer – Who Says (Video)

by Staff, October 15, 2009

John Mayer presents the Anthony Mandler directed visuals to his new single “Who Says” off his new album “Battle Studies”. Fans that have been eagerly waiting for new material won’t be disappointed by his latest offering. The smooth melody and its laid back lyrics are properly represented by a cleverly conceptualized video. In reference to the song’s opening line, Mayer makes a clear statement: “When I sing it, I do not think about marijuana – I think about walking around your house naked with a guitar.” In general: “It’s about being in control of the pleasure in your life,” On that note check out for his new “Battle Studies” to be released on November 17.

John Mayer is down with the Harajuku brands fools. Maybe he should put Hiroshi Fujiwara in the video so you can respect him? Dude has been collecting rolexes and wearing NBHD/Visvim/Fragment collabs since before you heard of them.

John mayer is pepto bismol, like coldplay…goes down easy, boring as fuck…why do you have to focus on easy listening rock like this?…his biggest fans are 13 year old girls and your parents…..

John is possibly one of this generations Triple Crown Threats, He is amazingly talented, Very marketable, and the key ingredient “Respected by his PEERS” The most talented artists of this day and age have never seen a muscician encompass the ability to “Really play the blues”. Obviously not many people that read this blog have a musical bone in there body, let alone Good Musical Taste. I myself can go from early MOBB DEEP to Radiohead to Soundgarden to Eightball and MJG to Bon Iver to Benoit Pioulard to J – Dilla to Deerhunter to Coltrane to Poor Righteous Teachers……It’s called Eclectic Musical Taste You Rat Bastards. Go Enlight Yourselves, Life Is Short!

@haters do your homework. bob dylan wrote the song that john mayer’s trying to lift from. instead it just comes off as sophomoric. dang ol, still ignorant, man? never liked dang ol soulja boy, man. ol coltrane, though, whoooooooooowhee!

Not a fan of John Mayer’s music… just not really my thing, but I heard about this song from a friend of mine so I checked it out. I think the video is actually really well done and I mean, who can’t get down with this line?

“Who says I can’t get stoned? Turn off the lights and the telephone, me in my house alone. Who says I can’t get stoned?”
