Teaming up once again with design duo Domeau & Peres, musician/designer Pharrell Williams develops a new fixie bike alongside Brooklyn Machine Works, the New York-based bike company which he co-owns. The collaboration features a more “high-end” design with the use of Water Buffalo Skin throughout the bike’s construction. Only 1 was created and is now on display at the W Lounge in Paris, which is a new pop-up space developed in anticipation of the opening for the W Hotel in 2011.

  1. [...] Needless to say, that bike design is ill. Shame only one has been made. Would have love to see this in all army green. I hope to end my Fixie procrastination by the end of this year and actually get one and still leave my bank account conscious. Spotted on Hypebeast. [...]

if this setup is for a real person (doubtful) they have really fucked up body proportions. seat’s forward, stems super long, handlerbars tilted forward…

i bet that leather doesnt do too well out on the streets…

and whats with the unimpressive looking rims? don’t fashion bikes have to have “the deepest rim evvvvvva…by 1 mm!!”

what a joke. too bad brooklyn had to go along with this.

Seat is too big, proportions are wrong, rims suck, and what’s with the sticker on the plastic valve cap??? definitely not feelin it

Wish Ed Hardy would finally make a fixed gear so we can drive the final nail into the coffin of this craze.

    hahahahahah, a leather fixie….. WTF?

As far as I see, the core benifits of a fixie (not a track bike) vs. other types of transportation and bikes are:
    -Less parts to break
    -Less incentive to steal
    -Cheap to make

In this respect this fails. In respects of dumping frivolous money……. win.
