Carrying on with their prolific collaboration from earlier in the year, Supreme and renowned contemporary artist Damien Hirst link up for a second go round, this time utilizing Hirst’s popular spot technique. A new set of decks are adorned by multi-colored spots with backside graphic symbols and a tee sporting the phrase: “Life’s a Bitch Then You DIE” on the back with a traditional box logo front in spot format. The decks look to retail for ¥14,700 (Approx. $160 USD) and tee for ¥7,350 (Approx. $80 USD). Both are part of Supreme’s 2009 Fall/Winter campaign.

“Id done a tattoo for a friend of mine in a band and he’s got a tattoo of spots. I keep teasing him that some guy is gonna cut his arm off and put it in some formaldehyde. [laughs] Yeah, eBay, arm on eBay. Sell that arm on eBay”.

“I don’t know much about art, but I know what I like. Ive done some skateboards for Supreme and I guess its art you can ride.”

Its a great idea to diversify but I just think Damien Hirst is terribly overrated in the art world. I think The APCXSupreme collbo was a great idea but after the BudweiserXSupreme collabo we saw last summer Im really hesitant to even think about buying anything supreme. It was really just utter garbage. I also think that the increase we see in the price of tees of the past few years is insane. But thats just me.

i wish i could get my hands of those decks it would be the best investment ever just like any other supreme deck. But every bastard shop in England never sell them

Actually its called diversifying. Supreme would be foolish to only have skaters rep their brand. Because of brands like Supreme they have opened the doors for skaters, giving them exposure to other markets and people who otherwise wouldn’t give a shit about a skateboard. Not to mention Making Money has never been Uncool, and isn’t Supreme’s creator James Jebbia, who said he does Not Skate.

I liked Supreme better when skaters repped their brand! That was in the early and late 90’s. Now they have random artists doing boards designs….

Next thing you know it they’ll be a pic of Diddy on a mini ramp
