Unwavering senses of collective individuality and personal strength are what birthed hip-hop, skate, punk and graffiti – and every youth movement of the last 30 years. Linking up with 10.Deep and Scott Sasso, Altamont announce the release of the 10.Deep and Scott Sasso for Altamont Collection.

Through gritty, utilitarian fashion pieces and critical, oft-provoking graphics, the 10.Deep collection continues to reflect the contrarian ideals of the cultural movements from which both brands were birthed. Taking cues from the namesake Altamont tragedy of 1969, Scott invokes the event and the era through motifs like a raceway checkerboard pattern, a bloody arm, psychedelic imagery and a reference to the infamous event security, or lack thereof. All these elements are incorporated with Scott’s signature 10.Deep attention to detailing and unique patterns to create a completely modern brand mash-up.

“Hell no”, I think you’re off base. I think it works..I think altamont has always been a hybrid brand..they did this with the late, great fiberops among other brands that aren’t skate brands. Altamont, although run by skaters crosses boundaries and in a mirror opposite way so does 10…I’m with you as far as seeing that 10 is wishing they were more relative to skating, they are trying..its a day where ’streetwear’ makes anyone who doesn’t rock rocawear and ecko cringe…but things move in circles and skate brands will again be clamoring for street styling and affiliation as they were just a couple years ago, exclusivity will matter again(no one cares right now)..collaborations like this make the distinctions between whether its a skate hoody or a street hoody stupid and show it all for what it is..bottom line: is it a good product, does it look dope? That’s really all that matters….

I don’t know if he’s a skater or not, but its an Altamont project, so how is it that Scotts is the culture vulture? Seems like it would be Altamont trying to get some streetwear kudos. Either way, I’m not mad stuff looks pretty good.

Not sure I understand why Scott Sasso would be a candidate to design for Altamont. I am actually disappointed that he designed a capsule collection for Altamont. It seems like he is designing for what is popular now so he can sell to another market. I doubt he has ever set foot on a skateboard or even knows anything about the culture.

Everything looking pretty good! Although the New Era is kind of dumb, but you can’t win em all.
