Qubic Store celebrated its 3rd anniversary this year which led to the creation of a series of different collaboration projects. Traveling extensively through Asia, Qubic Store’s Frank Liew developed a strong relationship through consistent travels to Hong Kong with the likes of ourselves at Hypebeast and Brian and Annie of 8FIVE2 and Know1edge. In a tribute to this, we created something revolving around Hong Kong’s interesting and iconic city landscape which effectively brought us together. With Loren Purcell at the design helm, we incorporated various elements symbolic of Hong Kong including the bustling streets, bright signage and grimy buildings. Both t-shirts and plastisol prints were created and available through Qubic Store and 8FIVE2 starting September 26th, 2009 with a suggested retail price of $60 NZD / $328 HKD. The intricate nature of the print offers something hidden at every corner , ready to be discovered. More information on the project can be seen over at Frank’s blog.

I love this comic book style t-shirt. To me it has the look and feel of a city. Caotic, black and white, and way to many people crammed all together. Nicely done. Get ‘s me excited to start showing my shirts on Oct. 1. I do wish they got a little more creative on advertising there names on the back. All in all I like it though.

Nice use of perspectives. It took me a while to absorb the illustration, dope…. Pity I don’t live in Hong Kong for the release.
