adidas are to release a sneaker for all you ‘fixed gear’ riders, designing a new Samba colorway. Slimming down the midsole slightly and moulding the entire upper for speed, these wheel turners come in two restrained colours complemented by an oversize tongue tag declaring ‘Slam the hammer down!’ alongside logos of mechanical gears. There is no word on a fixed released date, so keep checking here for more news!

I don’t care what they’re for, they look good. As if riding a fixed gear bike was esoteric. Take offense to them following a trend, and your just as transparent as they are.

ehh i’ll just stick to regular sambas for riding fixed, there is absolutely nothing that needs to be changed with the originals. i think all they did here was add and ugly colorway

I ride sambas around town anyway. And i thought Adidas already released a “Fixed Gear” shoe in a collab with Bianchi? So wtf is this. I agree, cheap marketing.
Id be down for a more stylish clipless shoe. Less of the earth tone colorways because van attempted that shit already (and failed btw because if you ride metal clips the fabric has no protection on your toes.) Pssh…smh @ Adidas

If these shoes were true “fixies”, they’d have one hole laced, with a knotted greasy string, the soles would be bare, and they’d be odd sizes. -10 points for adidas.

This is bad… its a kids product… and most fixed gear riders will see straight through this terrible marketing bullshit.

I’m glad that more small sneaker brands are coming through now because adidas and Nike have really dropped the ball in alot of areas.

slimmed midsole? sounds exciting. I ride sambas on my fixed, and sometimes even when I skate, and I think they’re a great shoe for throwing hammers in if you don’t want to wear a carbon fiber spaceboot you have to constantly change in and out of. I think it’s a great ‘nod’ to the fixed and road cyclists who have supported a good multi-purpose, yet casual, shoe. If you don’t ride or appreciate sambas as a shoe – no one is making you buy them…

Do it right or don’t do it at all.
And please stop using the word “fixie”.

ahahah, this a true sign of a corny fad. when the give you a colorway for your “activity”. didn’t vans do something like this as well?

Stinkers… Why oh, why would i buy “fixie” kicks… I just wear many of my other shoes, talk about jumping on the bandwagon!

    Straight plop!

Umm? ? If these shoes are for fixed gear riders why are the laces not off to the side or covered? If you ride a fixed gear you would expect that a pair of shoes aimed towards this type of biking would sport a feature like this. Riding clipped with a pair of laced shoes is very detrimental to the laces and front sides of the toe box.
Why not release a new pair of shoes dedicated for this type of crowd under the originals line, with durable materials and creative designs? ? Instead you release an old classic with no more style than most of your other classic originals Pretty dumb mistake and cheap marketing if you ask me Adidas.

    Um newsflash… They didn’t slim down or mold anything… It’s a samba.
They played w/the tongue graphic & three stripe fabrication.
