its amazing to see people getting anal over a shirt if you dont get the picture leave it alone and dont waste your time youre getting the wrong picture if you think a good clothing brand is a color to “sport” with your kicks what kind of critique are you? if you could only just see and judge the book by its cover it just shows how ignorant you truly are if you think youre defending the victims of the 9/11 attack by saying fuck this shirt you must have mental issues…

    FROM Mars:
“September 1 2001, was a day that I will never forget. That no one will ever forget. At that time i was 21 years old with one of the brightest future in the world. My girl who was pregnant at the time was in the WTC building when the attacks happen, so I feel the worse pain when I think about 9/11. I lost my girl and my child. I haven’t been the same since. I think the 9/11 shirt is sick! It allows me pay my respect on a different level. Not just the same o same RIP shirt. People have their own opinion about the shirt, but some people are just hating on the brand. The brand continues to show love to the city and other brands. its funny how people say this brand “wont last”, or “it will be done in a few years” but the Brand is here now. how many Brands can actually say that. Black scale is bay area based and if you from the bay and you ain’t supporting that then you are a hater. Much Luv to Black Scale.”

Anyone who didn’t lose anyone that day, your opinions aren’t needed.
If you “Hate” this tee and you weren’t on the picket line for anyone else’s release of a remembrance tee, then STFU. You’re just hating. If you don’t like the brand in general, do you really need to tell people that you don’t know about your feelings? Get a diary, Stooges.

I wanna personally thank everybody for their comments. Whether good or bad we are discussing important topics. Emotions & opinions are great. They let us all know we’re still alive. In regards to the WTC design, I recently read a powerful quote that stated, “To speak the names of the dead is to make them live again.” Like the name of the design says “We will never forget.” Blessings from Black Scale.

Black Scale, the only Brand out there at the moment whose bringing something new and different to the table. Every release, is well thought of and has a meaning. I’m glad we have a brand like Black Scale who puts effort in every release rather than just put some bs designs and release just because sake of the name. You know Black Scale is doing something right when they’re clothing release gets some debating going on. I don’t see anyone talking about the World Trade Center Rogue Status released, isn’t that showing a picture of the WTC after it crashed but its not a clear view? Just correct me if I’m wrong on that one. But I know when the Fall line do drop, the WTC shirt will be copped also with other products

oh yeah i forgot to say, our government doesnt want us to think. if they did why dont they teach us real shit that everyday people need to know? we are meant to be sheep not thinkers. They also dont want us to remember anything important like there roles in shit.
so this shirt is making people talk just like every other media thing that comes up with 9/11. that is a good thing, keep talking, keep thinking, we are only going to grow as a culture, maybe change the way this world works.
so lets remember the people that passed away, lets realize that this is a old ad, lets remember that we are still in wars and have been in a war somewhere in the world since we were all born, so lets remember to think.

tisk tisk…. exactly the sound i make when i read your opinion. I hope that after your opinion we can honor you by saying that unlike Mega, you’ve actually fought on the frontlines, and you’ve actually done more for our beloved country than the next man. If you have, thank you. If you havent then….tisk tisk. Clearly you are off to see the “Wizard” only to find out its a man behind a sheet with a loudspeaker. What happens to you then? I have been programmed, just like us all. The only difference is i now CHOOSE my program, you on the other hand seem to have accepted what they installed in you. If you got an issue with 9/11 then go hard for the cause! Form a non-profit, mentor the kids of the deceased, etc. Dont just sit behind your computer and criticize a man that intends to educate people through his brand. There are a thousand other brands that have pictures of guns on it, or bombs, or grenades. Your not complaining about the MILLIONS of INNOCENT people that have been killed by those “weapons of mass destruction”!? Don’t be a hypocrite “dun”. Tisk Tisk…your homework for today is to watch the movies I suggested below and then come back and write a 3 paragraph post on what it all means to you. Im sure after that bit of re-programming you’ll come back with a new perspective and a whole new program installed! :-) Homework is due at 8am PST.

Guaranty that there will be other brands that will try to achieve this type of buzz.. I don’t think Black-Scale’s intention was to create a trend out of 9/11 but I would not be surprised to see other people trying to create this type of interest.

I personally am not offended at all by the shirt BUT I understand if someone could be. Fashion is art…. you dont like it, dont get it. (but i bet LOTS of people will)

Ah, come on dun, YOU sound like you’ve been covertly programmed. What does all that you just said have anything to do with what this thread is about? You sound like another one of these wannabe conspiracy theorist trying to prove a point with vague generalities that point to an idea/entity that i’m sure you don’t even really know exists. You just go off of what other conspiracy theorist say and try to pawn it off as if they were your own thoughts. Here’s a suggestion, get off your high horse and bring it down to a level that makes real sense, cause you just trying to big-up a brand that thinks copying and pasting images off google is cool anyway. They aint fighting no wars, they aint out there standing up for peoples rights, or going against the 5% you so claim is controlling the rest of us 95%, they trying to make just as much money as those in the 5% that you talking about. They capitalizing on other peoples plights, and you just bought into it.

“Obviously you had enough time to write a paragraph in your busy world. We appreciate you for taking that time to write about your opinion.” Mega

Sounded sarcastic Mega, too much truth in there that you had to try put me on blast? I appreciate you for reposting tho. Truth always comes out on top.

“The 9/11 tee is to remember our history and see how it affects you and what responses we are getting from 9/11 graphic. as a whole. People are speaking up regardless if its good or bad and that is the nice part about this. Who ever thought a start up brand like ours can ever reach out to this capacity of opinions?” Mega

We’ve already gone through 9/11 and we know how horrific that day was and how it has affected us. Who would ever want to relive that memory? Someone has already posted his anguish for losing an uncle that day, and even expressed his opinion to you for how you are exploiting thousands of deaths including his loved one. Everyone’s gonna have an opinion on everything, but doing it in distaste isn’t really a good way to win people over, so that’s a lame excuse. Whats the real message behind the tee? You aint remembering our history Mega, this ain’t about you wanting to hear others opinions, cause if it was you wouldn’t be as arrogant and egotistical homie. The sympathetic ear would hear others concerns and react accordingly. There’s more distaste for the tee on this post than anything. Is that what you were really after? Nah, but you’re in it to win it, isn’t that right? Be controversial, create a buzz, it’ll big up the brand, just disregard what people say, or should I say the “haters” regardless of their opinions. Point blank, this is about making money, so go on and make that money holmes, just let me ask you this: Would you put that shirt out if any of your loved ones was in either one of those buildings? That’s one for you to grow on.

“If your so concern about how messed up it was with the World Trade Center I don’t see you going to war for our country cause you love it so much. Come on. Think before you talk and think harder what you have done to make a difference if you ever really cared.” Mega

How you know what anyone’s done? Don’t nobody see you in the frontlines, and to lecture us on doing something for our country or making a difference? What have you done to make a difference that really matters other than represent rebellion towards a country that gave you these freedoms, and banking on other peoples photos and graphics?

@ the end of the day i am thankful for the fact that I have the right to choose what i want to wear. Although our so called freedom is on a very thin ice, its good to see shirts such as the 9-11 tees. Everything these days feel very controlled by the pigs who run this country. We choose to turn the other cheek when tragedies on a far greater scale happens each day @ a diffrent country. Remember Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge? This only happend 30 years ago where 1.5 million Cambodians died. Everyone will have a diffrent outlook on this t-shirt whether its negative and positive. As for me im going to wear this shirt proudly, because simply the fact that no one can tell me nothing about my choices and what i decided to put on in the morning to represent my self.

#2 MEGA & FRIENDS: obviously black scale (you guys) got really bitter with the overall negative response of the line. Now all of a sudden theres an influx of LONG comments from people directly affiliated with black scale trying to assert their opinion OF YOUR OWN BRAND on hypebeast!! which is a blog-style website might i add…..That is totally lame, unprofessional, and reveals your lack of experience in the fashion industry.
#3:THEMOFUKINBAWSE: im sure no one is going to twist your nipples when your wearing your little shirt in the valley. Wear that shit over in harlem, the closest hood to ground zero.
And i doubt u could wear that shit over here in baghdad. Thats south central for all you marks & squares.
#4 BLVCK SCVLE (LOL) as a line in general: this is just my opinion now, Im clarifying that. Based on what i’ve seen from your collections, you guys just look like your trying way too hard. There’s absolutely no room for subtlety with your overstated political statements, and in the end the designs just come out looking very poor and overbearingly basic. I’m not a hater, and i mean when i say i would love to see you guys turn this brand around. In this industry, you can’t let peoples opinions fluster you, but your creations have to be felt by the masses or you’ll be gone in a few years.”

    VIA SAKE1

Us Bitter? Naw we are stoked. Believe that. Im probably the only one writing on this forum of comments from my crew.
I am also the owner of the brand and I can tell you I appreciate your opinion. Why is it I just got calls from my New Yorker homies and they can’t wait for the tee?

as the saying goes “never judge a book by its cover” people need to apply that not just to books but to many things in life. if those fools only knew WHEN that picture came out im pretty sure they would understand. BLACK SCALE is a brand with a lot of meaning to it, most of the shirts have meaning to it not like most brands today who just put some graphic with all kinds of colors just to get that pop shit and sell.

WWWWOOOOWWWW. Can’t believe there are people still buying into this line. I mean, really, what is black scale all about, and what are they truly conveying with their graphics, cause that 9/11 tee draws the line. I’d like to see anyone wearing that shirt with a smirk on his face, and see what happens. And I aint bein sensitive either, this was a real situation that killed thousands of people. To put a shirt out there to cause hype for your brand or make money with – homie is insensitive and tasteless, especially to all that was affected. That means all of us on this post. It don’t matter when or where that flick was taken either cause that image now has a universal meaning of pure hatred and evil. It’s that simple. It don’t matter how you look at it.. its real, straight up! Try convincing me or anyone else otherwise.. how can you not look at that image and think of what happened on 9/11 and all the lives lost? What are you really glorifiying? I’d like to hear a real explanation. and yo mize2, fall in line? get outta here with that. Matter a fact, why don’t you school us on how building 7 fell? You sound like you work on the inside or something.”

Kids die everyday in Africa from the big rocks your girl friends want. Hundreds of people die from those same diamonds that your every girl wants to brag to their friends about before they get married. You don’t go up to every mom or female and ask why they are wearing that ring do you? Is it about America? And how proud you are to be American? I am proud to be in America as an American but don’t get twisted our people take advantage of us like any other corrupt country. The 9/11 tee is to remember our history and see how it affects you and what responses we are getting from 9/11 graphic. as a whole. People are speaking up regardless if its good or bad and that is the nice part about this. Who ever thought a start up brand like ours can ever reach out to this capacity of opinions? In the end of the day you can say whatever it is you do but understand recycled life is everyday and it gets worse in other parts of the world. In the middle east its estimated 3 to 6 bombings a day and people parade and celebrate and how its a part of their belief and a how they sacrifice themselves for the betterment of mankind. If your so concern about how messed up it was with the World Trade Center I don’t see you going to war for our country cause you love it so much. Come on. Think before you talk and think harder what you have done to make a difference if you ever really cared. It’s a difference between sympathy and anger. You choose one and than react.

All you “hype” “beasts” better WAKE UP…. The mere fact that there is dialog and controversy about this sparks growth. Quit being so afraid to acknowledge the TRUTH. Bad taste or not, the shirt does what its supposed to do and that is convey a message. If some of you are now compelled to watch 9/11 Conspiracy, Loose Change, or Zeitgeist then Black-Scale has in my opinion done something way more “cool”, or “dope” than ANY of these other brands that simply market and sell bullshit on a shirt to kids. Some of the ignorance in the thread is a clear indication why 95% of the global wealth and resources is owned and OPERATED by 5% of the population. Quit being sheep! We are fighting the WRONG wars. OUR people (globally and without prejudice) are dying so that these corporations, government officials, and media moguls can continue to inject you with poison mentally, spiritually, and physically. Thank you Black-Scale for raising the debate so that we can all begin to QUESTION the programming that has been installed in us covertly. REPROGRAM NOW.

Btw. If you lost a family member in the 9/11 tragedy, 95% of the population feels your pain and is with you. But the other 5% see’s your dear family member as a number, not as a soul or a human. Dont be mad at Black-Scale….do the research and go after the culprits…if you dare.

Inside job or not, I don’t give a fuck. I had friends who died in those fucking buildings and will likely have to crash anyone I see wearing this thing. If you put this shirt on and represent what, oncoming death? The destruction of NYC? What the fuck are you guys thinking? I like the brand in general but this twin towers tee is just stupid and offensive. If you’re looking for provocation do it intelligently.

everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if anyone thinks that every graphic put on a tee is meant to “GLORIFY” something has their head up their ass. I put out a shirt with a photo from the kent state shootings. Innocent people died there (obviously not the same level of carnage but doesnt matter) and me making a tshirt about it doesnt glorify the event. Some people try to put shit out with context, and not always is it thrown in your face. Again, people can have their opinions but if you condemn before truly understanding the motives of the person creating the design, you are just making yourself look ignorant.

I have to agree with everyone who thinks the 9/11 T goes too far. I really don’t understand the point. Are they trying to celebrate what happened or what? Even if it’s not meant to celebrate a terrorist attack, which is my first reaction, what exactly is it trying to accomplish? There are way better ways to turn heads and stir up some controversy than displaying one of the worst things to happen on american soil in decades.

Black Scale gets hate over a Twin towers tee when they been putting PENTAGRAMS on tee shirts and flipping USA flags upside down since their 1st season???
Which means they’ve always been controversial

You sound like you work on the inside or something.

Ehh…I’m ambivalent about this whole collection. It just seems rather derivative of everything else that’s been going on over the last few years. Do we really need more black graphic t-shirts and letterman jackets? I would say no.

P.S.: Mize2, go read some actual science about what happened before popping off about conspiracy hokum.

lol. this brand lost it some time ago and i’m still surprised at how well it sells even though it has mediocre/bland graphics. What’s even better though is the idiotic responses that the “so-called” 9-11 shirt is producing – lmao!!!

“freedom of expression…right……that’s some thats some wack liberal fag shit.” <– whoever wrote that must be fucking mental!

The Twin Towers T had a different meaning in it’s original use (before the towers went down). But would the Twin Towers T have been ran if the towers were still around?

I’m sure no malice was intended, but damn.. it’s almost like using a swastika and saying that you meant to use it for it’s meaning before the Nazi’s used it.

having lost my uncle in this attack, i feel a bit different about the t-shirt as it does nothing but bring up that day i lost someone dear to me. Do you not understand that thousands of fathers, brothers, moms, and other family members were lost? who cares where the image came from. before 9/11 or after. If the owner of Black Scale is reading this, f*ck you for exploiting the worst day ever.

You guys chattin it up about the Twin Towers Tee might wanna do a lil research on it before you think meaning is in bad taste. You see a print (only see it), and make a decision immediately about it instead of finding out WHERE the print ORIGINALLY came from or what Mega’s view was when he chose it.

I think this is exactly what you want if your a brand, people buzzing about your shit. I respect Black Scale.Think about it. This is a brand that obviously didn’t have a ton of start up money but grew organically. This is undoubtedly one of the only lines that is worth watching right now as they seemingly grow and evolve every season.

Just a bunch of derivative graphic t bullshit…

Again, love Mega & the crew as people but their shit is not hot (no hate, cause I wanna support bad).

“oh that’s from a middle eastern publication”
    And?

    “BLVCK killing it again”
    Killing what?

    A C&C collab… WOW
    A varsity jacket… WOW
A YSL knock off t… WOW

It’s “branding” & is counting on “brand loyalty” yes… But not special at all.
    STOP being sheep!

    Mega, c’mon man

To each his own, but what message is that shirt sending. What a lot of people don’t realize we are in a war not only in Iraq and Afghanistan but right here in the US. The enemy dosen’t care if you’re black, white, hippster, preppy, liberal, or conservative. All they want is blood, I just pray it’s none of your’s

  • pshhhhh

ya’ll are some sensitive fucks. that twin tower shirt is fucking ill. the tee graphic was actually a print from a newspaper advertisement from the middle east published years before 9/11 happened. so there’s meaning behind the whole thing rather than just a spiteful reiteration.
