Clipse feat. Pharrell – I’m Good (Video)

by Chad Jordan, August 7, 2009

When The Clipse split with their long time label, Jive, and the super producers who have provided them with the signature electronic minimalism, The Neptunes, many fans had mixed feelings. On one hand the listeners will finally get to hear Pusha and Malice’s classic coke metaphors over beats from the likes of Kanye West, Rick Rubin and more. On the other hand, the chemistry between Pharrell and the custom thump the Neptunes gave the duo through two classic albums would no longer exist. It now appears that the fans can have it both ways. The Clipse’s upcoming album Till The Casket Drops will not only have production from Neptunes, the lead off single “I’m Good” features Skateboard P crooning over the chorus as the Thorton brothers do what they do best. The feel good song is surprisingly free of many coke lines as the Virgina boys skillfully put together a ode to flossing.

Naums…I have to agree and somewhat disagree. True “Hell Hath No Fury” was truly a Raw and phenomenal LP, and compared to that album it seems the Clipse has gotten soft…But at the least I still find their music somewhat motivational. (Motivation in will, Not to deal).

Song’s good, but the beat is a rip off of Ghetto Chick by three 6 mafia. Never thought I’d see the day that pharell ripped off three 6.

Geez – Clipse got soft…!! Not too suprising on one hand (it’s been a decade since they left the drug game and this song now reflects that). Having said that, I miss the grit from ‘Hell Hath no Fury’

Net result — 3/10 — This track sounds indistinguishable from all the other poor ‘hip hop’ on the radio out there. Clipse and Neptunes only by name. Weak.

this song is garbage, Pharrell should not have even messed with these dudes. Man UNdefeated LaBrea got a nice highlight there.

  27. Posted by: iFloss on August 7, 2009 at 7:51 pm

The video’s not bad. I’m feeling that chorus though xD
Something people who’re doing it up can definetly jam to in the car.
“Favorite part was 200 hundred dollar jeans with my favorite patch”

Sonqs hott its more of a summer jam though in my eyes celebrating the good life. Reminds me of a Biggie song a bit idk why
