[...] Crooks & Castles Footwear showed their newest footwear collection for spring/summer 2010 recently, and it’s quite clean, well-developed, and slightly retro. Simple chukkas, mids, and low-tops are offered in monotone colorways and four different styles: Crooks & Castles stuck to the basics and pulled them off effortlessly. Classic white soles. 1-10 I give them a 2.5. Nothing original they just smacked their name on some shit. Nothing innovative = not for me.

    Yourmama; Alife indeed!!

    navy suede chukkas are tits.

Not feeling them, let Gourmet do what they do best…make nice shoes!

  5. Posted by: yourmama on September 1, 2009 at 9:41 pm

    can anyone say alife?

  6. Posted by: C-Stylez on September 1, 2009 at 6:38 pm

Hmm, true say these aren’t very original – but then, they’re classic casual shoes that in my opinion are very wearable. Could rock these with any style for any occasion. So what if they’re not flashy. Seems acceptable as long as they don’t try charging premium prices for em.

I think the idea of having your own brand seems self fulfilling. You’re tired of all the same shit and you really think you can make a difference by bringing something new to the market. Apparently this is not what Crooks was thinking.

i would not pay more than $70 or $80 for these

Not too many clothing companies can do footwear right. Crooks does it right though.

maybe one legit pair or two.

I hate crooks and castles so much. They’re just beating a dead horse with this shoe stuff. It all looks like gourmet designs or common projects but worse. They’re not even putting their spin on it. It’s just a straight copy. So whack it hurts.

Weak, im so glad see more chukka rips, this is beyond a joke. This is what happens to brands that have intial sucess, then develope their product range, but are too afraid to do anything creative, and water there products down, so they dont loose there customer base.

shoes suck now. so plain and low pro. take me back to the good ol skate days of tech shoes and vibrant colors. now everything has a vulc sole and a plain canvas. very dissapointed in the direction shoes are going. poop. (i still wear kostons)

  27. Posted by: derp on September 1, 2009 at 2:24 am

    Not bad at all.
Really liking the low cut ones, chukkas look ok but those shots make them look all weird and floppy. Can’t complain about stitched soles.

  29. Posted by: max on September 1, 2009 at 2:01 am

  31. Posted by: true on September 1, 2009 at 1:23 am

sexy shoes, kinda reminds me of common projects, but these have their own style. these soles are popping up everywhere. i think some company in France makes the soles for many footwear companies.

When the markets SATURATED with the same thing just with a different tag it becomes wack……C&C please dont OVER SATURATE an ALREADY over saturated market….Its already flooded dont tsunami this too…..

First the hundreds now crooks then who everyone else! Damn we know yall have china connect brands just try us manufactured shoes and then I will give yall applauses! This is when you know brands have grown to big or dying. Well TH shoes are a tad bit better but I dnt wear them but hey! At least if they (th) brand die the shoe wear might last but dennis get back to the drawing boards also ! I feel every brand right now is trying to hard thats why polo is still out selling in our culture duh keep it easy and simple sometimes too. everything dosent have to be so proccessed

  47. Posted by: colin Garnes on August 31, 2009 at 9:51 pm

not going to lie. i’m not a fan of Crooks at all and these shoes are all pretty much fire.

  48. Posted by: emkae on August 31, 2009 at 9:38 pm

    Wow…how uninspiring.
Why even bother releasing this crap.

Same as every other whack line trying to cross over into a full lifestyle brand.

    BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.
