As an emerging bike-brand, Kinfolk looked to one of Japan’s most respected and established Keirin bike builders in Kusaka to produce and manufacture the brand’s frames. With few possessing the necessary knowledge, patience and understanding required to build a bike of this quality, Kinfolk’s offerings are undoubtedly something that won’t easily escape your mind. Teaming up with another respected entity in bike shop Carnival Tokyo, together the two release a co-branded fixed gear bike featuring a Kinfolk frame and Carnival Tokyo components. For more information on the brand, head over to KinfolkBicycles.com.

Carnival is like the best bike shop in Tokyo. Its owned by Yoppy, the same guy behind Real Mad Hectic and a few other Harajuku brands. Kinfolk is mostly New York based, but they got some people in Tokyo as well. The bikes are definately hand built by Kusaka. Oh and Kinfolk have a super dope bar in Nakameguro Tokyo with fly cocktails. Good to see them stepping up.

Kusaka-San is the man behind Vivalo. They make track bikes.

Carnival is a brand/shop or watever they became, that specializes in track bikes.

This is different than the Livestrong x Futura collab.

    Does it

for such a large group of creative people-all these brands seem to be doing the same things. bike is pretty, but if you want to stand out-maybe stop designing only fixies. i know they are cool right now, but seriously. there are so many other styles of bikes. they have been making bicycles for hundreds of years now. i can’t be the only person who feels this way. it’s almost like if you are a designer-riding a fixie is like an item on a check list that you have to cross off. love the skills that some folks have on them though. just a thought. carry on…
