MASH SF Tour of California 2009 Trailer

by Eugene Kan, July 13, 2009

Compirsed of a number of native Californian riders, MASH SF embarked on the Tour of California 2009 as they traversed the state by bike over a few days back in February. In this preview of the upcoming video, we’re given a glimpse of the natural beauty afforded to those lucky enough to experience the beautiful state as the crew of riders covered 750 miles in America’s largest cycling road race.

that seems like it was very tiring since they were riding fixies all the way – that seems odd, btw.

ive always wondered can you cruise on a fixie?
what would happen if you did?

I’m surprised by all the sht talking. You try riding 750 miles in 9 days without coasting. That’s so fcking gnarly. Also, does anybody know the hardcore song playing during the vid? It was quite fitting given how hardcore you’d have to be to ride 750 miles pedaling the whole time.

Its like entering a F1 race with a NASCAR, yeah they look cool and can go around in circles fast but thats all they are built to do.

Torpedo… a rider is a rider: no matter how far or on what or wearing what!!!

Love the part where that guy skidded on the snow.

I tried that on a road but without straps or clip on shoes it’s almost impossible.

that fact is yes, it was ideally a trip for geared bikes…But they did on ONE SPEED. That just makes them hardcore..And the little hipsters that ride there fixed bikes around would never do anything like this. They ride around in jeans and dress shoes.

What an amazing collection of support and belief, and put together so well. I love it.

And no thanks for negative responses… Really? Making fun of a bike based on how many gears it has (or doesn’t have)? That’s pure irony based on the fact that this is a blog based on form over function in all regards, which I admire.

    Ps. There’s a typo… Comprised, not compirsed.

Did they actually enter the Tour of California race?

Apparently the only way to be hip these days on a bike is to do it the hardest way possible.

Woah you really showed all those geared bike riders a thing or two! They’re always so smug in there spandex…oh wait.

Seems uncoordinated in all aspects of bike racing, but will probably make a cool MASH video.

Good advert for geared road bikes…
