@DiscoBiscuit: Check out GQ’s 1994 article on Michael regarding; as you put it, “his problems with the young folks.”

I want the zombie version and Hot Toys I know you dont read these things but anyone else agree they should make a smooth Criminal series? I would kill to have a statue with Michael in that wicked lean move he did in the Video.

    My mistake….
You’re right.. it was released in December 2008….
I only taught it was March coz the toy store near my area delayed it’s shipment till March.

I will be ordering a total of ZERO of these. A great musician, dancer, songwriter and artist MJ was, but let’s not forget about the creepy factor and his problems with the young folks. Let’s remember him for his music, but not these crappy, overpriced toys.

@rick: Yeah, I see the Billie Jean/History Tour one; but it looks more like History Tour. I was expecting one like what he wore in the music video. Still its nice.

Anybody have any idea how and where you can buy these? Their website doesn’t have an english page & doesn’t seem to have a shopping one either.

Stop with the moralizing, everybody’s stock skyrockets upon their death, In fact many of you won’t take these words seriously until after I’m gone.

Man these memories of Michael Jackson belong to everyone I think its good that they mad this. There is a demand for Michael Jackson Memorabilia right now, if you were a fan why not make something? Who gives a shit if none of the money is going to charity. What charity? A fund for his kids? They’re already set and in actuality I’m sure they don’t need money from toy sells. I don’t think its ok for anyone to just use his image whenever they want but I respect this cause its done well and tastefully. It’s practically the same as if I made a popular illustration of Michael Jackson and everyone liked it so much that I sold prints. For you losers out there, stop making this shit a big ass deal.

Making profit out of a dead Celebrity?…
This company called Hot Toys have been planning this even before the legend’s Death.
It just got delayed due to ‘the’ shocking news.

They’ve already released another one of his figure early March 2009 and the sales wasn’t that great until his sudden death hits the world. Anyway Michael already signed the contract with this toy company way before he passed away and that was like last year or something?

When ppl buy toys like this, A few percent of the cash will flow to the celebrity who signed their contract with the company. They’ll still profit from the number of sales the company made or else why would they even think of signing it?
(but since the King Passed away, so i guess the money will probably go to his kids or family members)

  22. Posted by: pablo on July 15, 2009 at 3:02 pm

Why do they wait until this celeb are dead. I agree with andy, but i am pretty sure you cant use the name with out paying a fee, which i hope goes to his family.

  23. Posted by: Golightly on July 15, 2009 at 2:25 pm

Profiting off a dead legend? How unthinkable! Happens all the time, you’re going to have to learn to deal with it. Expect Michael to be in commercials he would never have done supporting products he had no interest in, ex. Audrey Hepburn for GAP skinny jeans. Fact of business, celebrities sell, dead celebrities don’t charge. Sad but true.
These figures look downright amazing though.
