I think its real creative for an hip hop artist to come out with something other then hip hop.
Its more of a challange. Kanye said that hip hop is his everyday life. He know he is one of the best in the game. According to him all he listens to is old school r&b like Marvin Gay, Luther, Ect, so he wanted to change it up and see how he does. I think 808s and heartbreak was a great album. Andre 300 from outkast also did the same thing when he came out with “The love below” in Sept of 03 and that album is one of my favorite albums.

I love how the old jazz samples are coming back to save hip hop. The lyrics aren’t better than say, HIStory, but they were fire none the less. He says @ the top of the song about not wanting to offend anyone or straining connections “politically”, also mentioned wanting to give the track to Mixtape Yeezy. He’s stating his opinion about not being a fan of Autotune, he’s not trying to knock anyone, let alone Kanye.

This is fire. The industry seems to be at a divide right now. Half of the folks above hate it, the rest love it. It’s definitely a sign of the times. One can’t deny the fact that autotune is getting old….especially when it wasn’t new to begin with (c) Roger Troutman. Either way, be clear in your criticisms and just say you don’t like Jay-Z as opposed to hating on the song.
