DJ Premier’s Michael Jackson Tribute Mix
by Davis Huynh, June 29, 2009

Michael Jackson’s iconic influence transcends into Hip Hop, as demonstrated by arguably one of the greatest Hip Hop producers of all time, DJ Premier. This past Friday during DJ Premier’s weekly “Live From HeadQCourterz” show on Sirius, he brought forth a special tribute mix he put together for Michael Jackson. Since his passing there has been an overabundance of “tribute” mixtapes from several DJ’s, but none like this from Premo. Check it out.
The problem with a lot of Hip Hop show mixes is the constant mixing back and for the the same section of the song over and over again for a straight minute before they let the song play. Which is hugely annoying to me. Just let the record bump! Mix it scratch it a little bit and let it play. We don’t need to hear your skills for 2 minutes. No disrespect to Primo either. A lot of Hip Hop Shows do it.
I WISH I COULDA HEARD DAT…D.J PREMIER ONE OF THE GREATEST D.J’S OF OUR TIME..
King of pop x King of hip hop, unreal!
Sweet song selection but… HipHop scratching and fading bla die bla is AWFUL on this mix, made my ears crumble.
Bad way to represent one of the greatest artist ever.. Too BAD.
THANX…WE MISS HYPETRAK!!!
