a bathing ape bape bapesta x A Bathing Ape Bapesta X

A shoe synonymous with A Bathing Ape whilst at its pinnacle, the Bapesta makes a return to what is arguably its roots with the “X” collection seen here. With the Bapesta’s early renditions known for its colorful patent colorways that occupied a direction un-chartered by Nike and the Air Force 1, the X collection also features a series of characters on the heels. A total of six different colorways are seen here and will release at Bape Land.

yo, i have been into bape since like… 2001 or so… and like when i first got into it they had they OG green/yellow camo hoodies… then in 2004/2005 they came out with some of the sickest streetwear ever created. personally i have never been a fan of the shoes… i’ve been a nike fan since the early 90’s and probably will stay that way until i die… i do like the bapestas the best of the different styles bape has chosen to rip off from other brands, haha. the camo, and lifestyle aspects of the brand were totally unique to the market at the time, which noone can deny. i never got into bape because it was trendy… i got into it because they had few designs that i thought were amazing. i didn’t just buy whatever was available to me, i saught out and hunted down the pieces that i wanted the most. because as we all know… every single brand out there has A LOT of designs that are wack as fuck… including Bape. i only ever baught 4 bape hoodies, 3 ice cream t-shirts, 1 pair of bbc shorts… and 1 ice cream hat. that alone cost like $2500. was it worth it? to some… maybe not. i don’t change my style often… been wearing hoodies and shorts and tee’s and new era’s for over 10 years now and i don’t see that changing anytime soon, and my bape shit will always be the flyest shit i have.

Eeee! Dope shit but the homie nigo let the game change for my long loved brand. Which after 16 years I wouldnt change what work for the brand, just revamp it. I see bape/bathing moving on on to off higher end brands in the future. which would be a smart move due to thats what the brand has becom infamous for, i just hope to see this brand 15 years from now, but respected more. Which streetwear isnt dying its shifting/re-inventing the roots. Hey i love and hate how streetwear is now, due to streetwear is more harder to please a customer due to it being marketed as major clothing market sso brands/start ups have to stay ahead and innovate

jeez they look ridiculous now. At one time they were hot though. No wonder nigo jumped ship.

I hoped that Bathing Ape would change into the more childish look after they took over Nigo. He took himself too serious as a designer at the end..
