A Bathing Ape Bapesta X – A Closer Look

A shoe synonymous with A Bathing Ape whilst at its pinnacle, the Bapesta makes a return to what is arguably its roots with the “X” collection seen here. With the Bapesta’s early renditions known for its colorful patent colorways that occupied a direction un-chartered by Nike and the Air Force 1, the X collection also features a series of characters on the heels. A total of six different colorways are now available at A Bathing Ape retailers worldwide.
Anyone know when they are releasing in the US at the stores?

I agree with Smitty….people pay $400-$500 for gucci/prada sneakers which are completely just an ugly shoe itself, not just the colorways. If its not ur cup of tea then so be it. I don’t think ur a hypebeast if u still wear Bape. Hypebeast kids hop from trend to trend and Bape hasn’t been a big trend since like 06. I’ve worn Bape since 03-04 (before NYC had a store) and I still do because it’s what I like I don’t feel the need to switch up just because to some people “Bape is dead”. Grow up and stop following everyone’s trends and fashion all the time, make your own path and stick to it.
i have to say the best bapes ive seen are the ones pharrel are wearing in ice cream skate vid when hes chillin next to a lambo.
I’ve always thought it was funny how this rip-off costs more then the shoe it was ripping off.
people pay just as much for wack gucci, versace, armani, d&g, chanel…
even lacoste sells their polos for way, way too much…
people pay more for nikes… than bapes… especially after market…
people pay absurd amounts of money to get what they think will make them stand out…

I went to the store today around 5pm in nyc. They don’t have the new shoes in yet. Probably next week they will come in the sales guys said.
