A shoe synonymous with A Bathing Ape whilst at its pinnacle, the Bapesta makes a return to what is arguably its roots with the “X” collection seen here. With the Bapesta’s early renditions known for its colorful patent colorways that occupied a direction un-chartered by Nike and the Air Force 1, the X collection also features a series of characters on the heels. A total of six different colorways are now available at A Bathing Ape retailers worldwide.

I agree with Smitty….people pay $400-$500 for gucci/prada sneakers which are completely just an ugly shoe itself, not just the colorways. If its not ur cup of tea then so be it. I don’t think ur a hypebeast if u still wear Bape. Hypebeast kids hop from trend to trend and Bape hasn’t been a big trend since like 06. I’ve worn Bape since 03-04 (before NYC had a store) and I still do because it’s what I like I don’t feel the need to switch up just because to some people “Bape is dead”. Grow up and stop following everyone’s trends and fashion all the time, make your own path and stick to it.

I’ve always thought it was funny how this rip-off costs more then the shoe it was ripping off.

people pay just as much for wack gucci, versace, armani, d&g, chanel…

even lacoste sells their polos for way, way too much…

people pay more for nikes… than bapes… especially after market…

people pay absurd amounts of money to get what they think will make them stand out…

if you dont like the bape posts… dont click on em… the author of this blog is the one posting about bape… so he obviously thinks it’s relevent enough to write about…

it’s not madness if you don’t pay attention… STOP THE HATING…

“zaya”… you say that if one can’t put together an outfit that works w/ these kicks ” then yu have no style.” really?! I disagree wholeheartedly… in fact, i’d go as far as to say, that if you CAN go into your closet and put together an outfit that works with these kicks, then you’re either in the circus or your 7. this sh-t is so wack, it’s beyond words… in fact, I guarantee Nigo is falling down, laughing at the fact that he can continue to put out the same wack sh-t and still sell it… and sell it for a premium price, no less… it’s incredible… incredibly pathetic.. and yes, I’m hating on BAPE kicks… the only way this is going to stop is if you ‘Beasts stop buying this sh-t, so please, for the sake of all of us who read this blog and are SICK of seeing these damn kicks, in yet another Crayola-throwup color combo… STOP the madness.

seriously… this is like a skipping record… just awful… these are the opitome of “trendy” and not in a good way, because this “trend” was never even hot… the best part is, you ‘beasts are paying HUGE money for these… good call… oh and “zaya”, if I read your (mostly incomprehensible) post correctly, you said that if you can’t put together an outfit that looks good w/ these kicks “then yu have no style?” Seriously? I’d actually say, if you CAN put together a outfit, from your wardrobe, that looks good with these kicks… then you’re 7… 13 max.

  15. Posted by: zaya on June 24, 2009 at 9:21 pm

2 say somthing looks childish is onlii a state of mind.
if yu arent able 2 take 1 ov doze bapes and put together a hot outfit – then yu have no style.

some are hot clr combos & some arent.

bape is falling off extremly but everyone knoes that bape makes some really hot pieces…

& if they didnt, then y is it the million$ company it is today?
some say its the hype beast supporting it … but i say “who doesnt like urban japanese pop culture?
& who doesnt admire that camo?”

All shit talking aside, I just can’t comprehend how anyone over 20 (being generous here, I would’ve hated these when I was 14) would find these shoes good looking. “Fisher Price, my first Timberlands!”

  17. Posted by: LE0 on June 24, 2009 at 8:02 pm

    bapes trainers are nasty

you dont need to come on here and say bape looks childish. that’s the style and people (including me) like that. It’s true though, they need to come up with some newer stuff, but at least they aren’t doin more all gold or silver shit
