what the fuck does johnny cupcakes have to do with hardcore? since when did hardcore have anything to do with baking muffins? and why would i want a chain of strength tshirt that says ‘the hundreds’ underneath? i say fuck supreme for selling overpriced bad brains shirts and fuck these guys for following in their footsteps.

    peace

Bobby Hundreds was a Christian Raver before he was a hardcore master

  3. Posted by: terry on May 29, 2009 at 11:54 am

the hundreds x benny gold x johnny cupcakes(dudes got a faux hawk) = weak sauce. the hot topics of street wear right here. fully dooshed out.

  4. Posted by: julien on May 29, 2009 at 10:19 am

hey b real I listen to hardcore, warriors, cold war, reign supreme etc,and you’re right about the hundreds with the hardcore thing but not about johnny cupcakes cause he was actually in, on broken wings so he knows about the hardcore scene and what not, so get your shit straight

  5. Posted by: jack on May 29, 2009 at 3:04 am

its sad that HC is being exploited the way the hundreds, it seems as if the hundreds pick a topic and tap it out, for example, los angeles life style, sf life style, so cal skate lifestyle, hardcore life style, whats next guys ny lifestyle as you open a ny your store, please keep it legit guys, ive never seen you at a “hc” show, and really dont expect you to see u there anyways, please stop fucking shit up for us, we really dont accept you here in our community “hardcore” so it would be nice if you can go back to your original inspiration what ever that was, hip hop, basketball, jerking off, idk but just go back, hc was never about selling product, so please stick these shirts up your ass. thanks

  6. Posted by: Nagels on May 28, 2009 at 5:56 pm

hey guys how bout you calm down. Its not a kids fault that he wasnt born early enough to be as cool as you, so just let him think that the shirt hes wearing is cool. its not a big deal, its just a damn shirt. im sorry that these shirts are destroying the memories of your youth, but if this is your primary concern, you have bigger issues than the newest hundreds collab

  7. Posted by: Adam on May 28, 2009 at 5:25 pm

Yo we know your way more cool cause you were born ten years before us, but I’m listenin to the same records as you. You should be stoked kids are still into hardcore and keeping it going. These guys are into hardcore and wanted to pay tribute to the bands they loved, and thats awesome. The colab was between COS themselves and the hundreds, but i guess you’re better than COS themselves.

  8. Posted by: scooterdiggins on May 28, 2009 at 4:04 pm

regardless of if the people behind this are “down with the scene” or “are really into hc”, this is not cool in any way. what’s the point of wearing a shirt that looks like a shirt? it’s beyond me.

  9. Posted by: itohead on May 28, 2009 at 3:40 pm

Bobby Kim, found of the Hundreds grew up going to Hardcore shows. google it.

  10. Posted by: The Motherfucking Profit on May 28, 2009 at 11:32 am

It’s funny how everyone flames TH because they say they aren’t HC or are ripping off HC bands. Do you really know these people? Are you friends with them? Do you talk to them on a daily basis? The answer…NO. More than 90% of you are oblivious to the fact that people in TH are HC fans and are actually friends with the bands they are “ripping off” So….on that note…keep your ignorance to yourself if you don’t really know what you’re talking about. That’s my $0.02.

  11. Posted by: B Real on May 27, 2009 at 9:45 pm

I’m gonna call these dudes out fuck it. The Hundreds are not part of the legacy of Hardcore one bit. It’s trendy so this guys wanna act like they’re all down now dudes please stop POSING. If them dudes were at a hardcore show like that CroMags/Brains show they would have gotten moshed to a pulp or beat up by DMS. The shits called hardcore not softcore and them dudes are soft and mushy and so are most of the kids who buy there teeny bopper garbage. They are playing culture vulture and attaching themselves to a music and lifestyle thats genuine, cathartic and vital things The Hundreds know very little about.

This kind of posing and culture snatching needs to stop…….Mutherfukers please…….Aint nothing and I repeat nothing authentic about this bullshit. It make me wanna puke! First they pose as skaters and create a skate team, then they latch on to Hardcore like they were involved in the movement or have a real connection other than as Johnny come lately wannabees. Same for that lame ass Johnny Cupcakes. I mean are you kidding me what could be less hardcore punkrock then that duesch bag poser please.

StreetWhere is bullshit and here’s the proof. Grow some balls, throw a stage dive and while your at it give a flying middle fingers to this bullshit.

these are dope, but id rather get the OG shirts

  13. Posted by: aplecheeksem on May 27, 2009 at 3:06 pm

they’re fucking clothes, people wear them, if your 45 and have been into hardcore since the 80’s when start today and the one thing that still holds true were released I doubt you’d care that kids dig it 30 years later.

  14. Posted by: Life.Love.Regret. on May 27, 2009 at 3:00 pm

    Thanks but no thanks.

  15. Posted by: grow_up on May 27, 2009 at 2:04 pm

why are there 30 yr old men talking about “back in the day” on hypebeast???

  16. Posted by: timrollsx on May 27, 2009 at 1:58 pm

I think it’s a cool concept but i’d rather just break into my collection if i wanted to wear a hardcore shirt.

  17. Posted by: 666 on May 27, 2009 at 1:49 pm

i dig the hundreds. i dont care, sue me.
Just wouldn’t rock anything related to straight edge or whatever.
Next, do a Black Metal theme.

but the hundreds are doing a great job of getting all you people talking.
“if you ain’t bein’ hated on, you ain’t doin’ shit”

  18. Posted by: Flipped tortilla on May 27, 2009 at 1:29 pm

In response to everyone asking if you have to be edge to wear the COS shirt I would say nay. If you like the band it does not mean you have to be edge. Most edge kids listen to hiphop which talks about drugs, alcohol, and hoes. I would say thats contradicting yourself. I have never been edge but do appreciate good HXC music. Most of the members of such iconic bands have broken edge throughout the years. It’s not like I get mad at an edge kid for wearing a Wu-Tang shirt and yell out “don’t wear the shirt because you can’t relate to people who choose to drink or smoke weed”

  19. Posted by: ape on May 27, 2009 at 12:32 pm

Truthfully, these shirts look like crap.

  20. Posted by: car bomb on May 27, 2009 at 12:17 pm

I like how people are in uproar over this in 2009 when really, 1) the streetwear/hardcore connection has always been present and 2) streetwear brands doing hardcore-inspired stuff is already done to death.

  21. Posted by: Guz on May 27, 2009 at 5:19 am

I think it is rad that bands re-relase old shirts.
The hundreds’ Chain shirt can’t beat an original Chain shirt from ‘89, no doubt about that. Still, this is good for younger kids that got into hardcore after these bands stoped playing. as they are able to buy shirts and show their love for these bands, without paying 100 bucks on ebay for an original Turning point shirt. I love it when revelation or thunderlizzard re-release shirts. That shit is dope!

  23. Posted by: SDZ on May 27, 2009 at 4:32 am

I love how annoyed the hardcore fans are at these shirts. Calling the kids that’ll wear them fags. Get a grip for fucks sake.

  24. Posted by: lxrone on May 27, 2009 at 4:06 am

just doing what supreme has been doing.

  25. Posted by: jigga on May 27, 2009 at 2:44 am

The gay little queer kids born in the 90s that wear The Hundreds know nothing about this. Pointless release.

  26. Posted by: Golightly on May 27, 2009 at 2:37 am

Real OGs, get a grip. You don’t have to be in your mid-30s to enjoy hardcore. I’d say over half the people who went out to see GB a few years back in Toronto would not have even been swimming in daddy’s pouch during the youth crew era, but all were into hardcore, and were more than pleased to see the band. Sorry for being born late on the ‘fad.’ This is not to say that these shirts are amazing in my eyes, they’re pretty lackluster, but I don’t see anything wrong with the idea of ’streetwear x hxc’ if it were to be done right, as I know tonnes of kids into both.

*waits on some GAUZE x BountyXHunter*

  27. Posted by: chrisinquestion on May 27, 2009 at 2:33 am

this is great, paying tribute to a scene and culture that is essential to not only those behind these streetwear companies, but the fashion itself. will pick up all of them can’t wait!!!

  28. Posted by: M on May 27, 2009 at 1:33 am

    1) That Chain of Strength collaboration is actually The Hundreds x Chain of Strength x Revelation Records.

    2) You can’t see the backs/fronts of these shirts through these shots.

  29. Posted by: itohead on May 27, 2009 at 1:26 am

thats awesome. im sxe so cool beans man. lmao

the answer is no, everyone on this website are what the website is… HYPEBEAST.

  31. Posted by: TZA on May 27, 2009 at 1:19 am

WACK! hard core themed shirts for $30…COME THE FCUK ON!!!
ten bux or bust! if you didn’t get it at a show don’t rep it. that is how I look at it.

  32. Posted by: eddie421 on May 27, 2009 at 12:59 am

fuck this shit! next thing you know you gonna see a kid wearing the COS tshirt and drinking beer at your party….don’t play with that “X”………

JCs dope and so is Benny Gold

  35. Posted by: REAL OG's on May 26, 2009 at 11:56 pm

    What a fckn waste…

You are doing a “tribute” to bands (actually an era) that none of your current customers know anything about. Most of you kiddies were BORN after the hey-day of any of the bands referenced. Way to rub it in to all those bands that got ripped off by not making money back then by ripping off their ideas again and making the money they should have made. If you really wanted to do something, then you would take all the money that these shirts are going to make you and send it right over to all the bands you ripped off.

I don’t know why I’m ranting on a comment when I could just email you guys directly, but seriously, this shit is fckn LAME. Get a clue, do your stupid ass cartoon graphics that you’re known for and quit trying to re-introduce time periods that will never have the “feeling” it did back then…

You can’t create the past, all you’re doing is killing the effect it once left by making real og’s have to see little fag kids wearing it all the time… and they have no idea what they’re wearing represents…

  36. Posted by: Truth on May 26, 2009 at 11:43 pm

Im in a bit of a predicament, love Chain of strengt ‘n GB but I have never been SXE, can you actually rock that if you’re not really SXE? I’ve battled with this my whole teenage/adult life, never rocked shirts with SXE insignias for I am not. Is THIS OK? It is more of an Iconic thing I suppose… Bobby Hudreds SXE?

  37. Posted by: Bill on May 26, 2009 at 11:31 pm

If they really wanted to do a hardcore theme they’d do a basketball jersey.

  38. Posted by: Gm2 on May 26, 2009 at 11:23 pm

If I’m paying good money for a Chain of Strength/GB shirt or whatever.. I’d rather just get an old original design off ebay.. whatever

  39. Posted by: A on May 26, 2009 at 11:19 pm

Looking forward to seeing bros wearing this and getting blank stares when I yell COS lyrics at them.

  40. Posted by: xchuckx on May 26, 2009 at 11:13 pm

how can you not like this collab? as a person who listens to hardcore and hip hop, i admire bobby doing something like this. no one does this everyday. great tribute. chain of strength shirt is money. street wear isn’t always about hip hop kids. know your music.

  41. Posted by: ct on May 26, 2009 at 9:58 pm

is this drop gonna be online?

  42. Posted by: keitho elliotti on May 26, 2009 at 9:52 pm

fuck awesome did that some time ago..
    ripping integrity’s album art works…
for this particular project, idea is good, but execution is kinda of weak i must say…

  43. Posted by: Nathnniel on May 26, 2009 at 9:05 pm

Opinions on the execution aside, the hardcore scene will not take kindly to this, thats a fact. Any shirt over $13 is too much. Trash Talk shirts flipping on ebay for $30 is blasphemy, so “street wear” brands ripping hardcore logos won’t go over well

  44. Posted by: The Count on May 26, 2009 at 8:17 pm

Funny how all you guys hate on this, yet probably own Hundreds gear.

  45. Posted by: oprah spinfrey on May 26, 2009 at 8:10 pm

im just glad i didnt see a judge shirt up there……..

  46. Posted by: JFreshInEffect! on May 26, 2009 at 7:18 pm

Didn’t supreme just do a whole bunch of HC type shirts?

Good Idea, weak execution. Terrible in fact. Original HC shirts from Rev are way better. The Chain logo is like the BOLD logo which are rip-offs of older Hip Hop logos. I love me some Chain Of Strength though. Can I drink and wear that Chain shirt nowadays?

  47. Posted by: bopngopher on May 26, 2009 at 6:29 pm

It’s apparent that the streetwear culture and hardcore community is on the same page, the number of heads i see at shows wearing brands like crooks, 10s, hundreds, etc is growing everytime i go to a show. especially brands like flying coffin and jc who stemmed from that scene its gonna be another market to tap into it. im into it, that chain of strength one is fire, but i got the same one for ten bucks, and they are most likely marketing this for $30….values of punk rock might be going down the tubes.
merch designs for hardcore bands are clearly streetwear inspired so im not shocked.

in4mation just put out that street justice tee, which im guessing is a cro mags reference. so im just waiting to see a brand pop off with all variables covered….d…fam

  48. Posted by: ralph on May 26, 2009 at 6:13 pm

    wack except the gorila shirt

  49. Posted by: Jbeltran on May 26, 2009 at 5:31 pm

sadly idiots who have never heard/listened to these bands will be wearing these shirts.

  50. Posted by: thegreat on May 26, 2009 at 5:13 pm

    johnny cupcakes sickk

  51. Posted by: (REQUIRED) on May 26, 2009 at 5:09 pm

Great Concept, Mediocre execution, but i suspect it’s completely lost on the target audience. (even though I’m sure they will still sell)

I wonder why didn’t they just team up with Rev? There is definately some way hotter graphics from that era of HC they could have flipped….

can’t knock the hustle though , it’s easy to judge from the sidelines. Maybe it will even expose a few kids to some positive music?

  52. Posted by: AL X on May 26, 2009 at 4:15 pm

Do 99% of the people that read this website even know what these shirts relate to or even listen to the bands they relate to?
    I highly doubt it.

  53. Posted by: A5H on May 26, 2009 at 3:31 pm

    These are pretty great.
Would definitely buy a bunch of them if they’re coming to the UK at all?
