I take back what I said about the Los Angeles Hipster scene being wack. 80% of the scene sucks. Respect to Rosewood, Fairfax, La Brea, and Brooklyn Projects on Melrose, and the whole TI$A/ Taz Arnold fashion movement going on over there, oh and the chill hip hop scene over there too. Morissey is a cool artist but many hipsters make him seem like he’s god. Shame on those people talking a lot of crap about Aoki. He doesn’t suck but he just isn’t that great. Oh and to notTHATguy, mainstream artists like Black Eye Peas trying to do electronic stuff which is why this genre is getting lame. With Wayne and FOB i would still feel the same.

Black Eye Peas talking about being 3008 yet they are doing music that is like from 2008 and it sucks so they late. Kiss FM listening kids are ignorant so they enjoy this bullshit.

Steve Aoki’s a joke. Electro’s on the way out and shit like this isn’t helping the genre.

i agrre with everything said but lets keep morrissey out of it.

HATERS, SHUT THE FUCK UP, this is his own version of the song! he can do what he wants! its not meant to be like the original, this is a pretty sick ass song if you actually give it chance, at least its original and not fucking cookie cutter bullshit thats out there now, (and i mean that in every genreof music), i guarantee the people who are hating on this listen to shitty music anywhere from soulja boy to fall out boy, so stfu this is real musical talent. but i do agree he isn’t “epic” live, but where your fucked up and having a good time it doesn’t matter, and thats the point of this music , is to just have fun. so stop ur bitching and recognize talent. I BET IF THIS SONG HAD WAYNE, ALL U FUCKING HATERS WOULD SUCK ITS DICK…

people look at steve aoki as if he they expect him to be some sort of god. he gets all of his attention due to the fact that he is HEAD of DIM MAC and so, just like busy p, or any other owner of a very in vogue music label, gets all sorts of undeserved attention. he uses that attention to promote his own music and dj, also like busy p (Although p does both a lot better) but i dont see why people are dissing the track as if they expected some sort of musical revelation because obviously it wanst going to be.

For a bunch of hipsters reading a site that searches for trends, you’re all very much highly opinionated and pessimistic. Just shut up and enjoy life, will you?

this remix is pretty cool to me.

whats with all the paragraph long hate? LOL good music is good music.

Meh… It’s aiight. I feel like the opening minute of the song sets you up for something great, but then Aoki sort of drags you through this coked out drum beat that clearly falls short of N.A.S.A.’s original track with west. Only up until the final minute of the song when Li’s chorus is washed out and slowly creeps in does the song seem to actually be satisfying, and then it sort of falls off again when Santogold hops on the track. Not particularly impressive for a remix… I think if a group like LA Riots, Justice or MSTRKRFT remixed this song it would have possibly been a helluvalot better. Steve Aoki though? Homeboy just needs to stick to promoting parties in Hollywood… On a side note, you spelled Lykke Li wrong… Only one “i…”

“I don’t get why this guy gets booked for these events, much less booked at all. Sloppy mixing and terrible song selection only added my dislike for this guy as DJ, if that’s what you wanna call him.”

  24. Posted by: turdzzzzzzz on May 12, 2009 at 9:38 pm

Yeah I just couldn’t believe how SHIT he was djing – just embarrassing!!!

But all the kids were going nuts wearing the tshirts! BUT I doubt he could pull that shit off in the UK….

The whole Los Angeles Hipster scene is wack. Just a bunch of kids wearing Wayfarer’s and vintage clothing or neon colors, listening to Morrissey in the day and Dim Mak and Aoki at night. People are going nowhere with this and creativity is very low right now. Steve Aoki is a typical mediocre electronic dj or artist. Not saying he sucks at what he does because he is making a shit load of money everyday but electronic music got a bit wack by the end of last year and it’s always the same crap lately. Probably the only respectable people in this genre right now are Justice, SMD, and SOULWAX because they make shit that isn’t like the rest. Now Kanye is still a great artist. People hating on him because of his ego and some other crap that is kind of stupid to dislike a person for but at the end of the day he is still one of the best rappers at the moment. His part on Gifted isn’t his best but what do you expect? It’s a song from an album that is just a bunch of artists crammed up into a cd produced by two amateur dj’s.
