Black Pop. That’s the new genre being formed by the newer, younger, more open-minded generation of entertainers. Not necessarily true to r&b or hip-hop, but palatable across several demographic and consumer groups. Not true to street culture, ‘hood culture, or hip-hop culture – Kanye, Black Eye Peas, Chris Brown, and surprisingly Jay-Z are creating a bridge from the heart of hip-hop directly into the heart of national pop. As open-minded as they all are, they neglect the issues related to hyper-assimilation, such as the erosion of the original art/culture; the loss of identity and recognition of the original culture; and the ultimate ostracism of the original culture.
More power to Black Pop, but make sure to differentiate it from Hip-Hop. Otherwise, we’ll end up hating real hip-hop because it doesn’t sound like Black Pop. Check yourself.

he is going for that old 80’s feel to th video its apparent. He is going along with the whole 80’s pop trend that is coming around in full force. The 80’s are coming back in a big way and its obvious with the latest color trends and styles. So let him be and let him follow the trend, or maybe he started the trend a while ago, who knows? But he is an artist who is free to express himself and maybe he isn’t making everything he does for his fans….

Horrible song, horrible video. It’s a wonder to me why people pay so much attention to him. Some attention I understand. He has made some great beats/productions in his career. But he is VERY OVER-RATED. People need to stop stroking his pathetic ego and let him fade away.

I am so surprised that people were not feeling this video. Not to say that this video was good, because it really wasn’t , but people really be riding Kanye hard; people act like he can do no wrong. Now, I am a die hard Kanye fan, I still remember the first time I saw him do Get Em High live in DC, I knew dude was the future way back then, like back when he was dropping the I’m good mixtape.
I am glad people will still actually admit when Kanye does something kinda sub par. My biggest fear for Kanye is that people will just ride with him even when he does something wack and more and he will start thinking he can just do whatever, like some other artists out there who shall remain nameless. But yeah just to sum it up, Kanye is the man and all, but he dropped the ball on this vid, now Amazing on the other hand..thats a TUFF one.
