the-complete-ride-preview-2-04

We’re pretty sure the last round of teasers left enough information to narrow down our upcoming project with Solebox involving none other than the legendary 3 Stripes, adidas. Officially dubbed the Zeitfrei as a reference to founder Adi Dassler’s philosophy of helping athletes achieve their performance goals, the shoe’s inspirations lie in the world of fixed gear riding. Perforated panels throughout the shoe as well as heel mesh feature 3M hits below the surface as well as reflective stripe across the midsole. Unlike traditional vulcanized shoes, the whole outsole is placed on top of the foxing band for enhanced support unlike conventional vulcanized models. A neoprene tongue pocket allows you to safely conceal your laces. More information regarding availability as well as the final piece of the puzzle will become showcased in the coming weeks.

    RE: dokydoky

Clipless shoes unclip at the worst times. During a whip skid, if you aren’t extremely careful, you will clip out. I was on a 15m fixed bay hills ride, when, skidding down a hill at 25mph, I accidentally clipped out. I tried to do a footjam on my back wheel, but clipless shoes are slippery; & when I did this my other foot clipped out. The only way for me to stop was to jump off my bike. Going down a hill. At over 25mph.
Accidental clipping out is not a problem with clips & straps, which is why I would be buying a pair of these shoes if they weren’t hideous & $200. Just wait for nike to release their fixed shoes, or just about any other pair of sb’s will have a substantially stiffer sole than the vans era’s that have become so popular.

I think these shoes are dope but it’s a shame that these shoes are prolly gonna be limited, what’s the point? fixed riders want the shoes not the hassel of trying to get em

“Fixed gear lifestyle” shoes are wack, if you want to get shoes for your lifestyle, go clipless.

can’t relate to it…look like payless joints if it weren’t for the 3 stripes…only a fixie riding hipster could love these. :-\

Putting names of big players in the game on it and babble a bit about fixies and 3M doesn’t make a pointless concept better.
