At the center of a Supreme collabo announced earlier this week, honeyee has put together a feature with the legendary personality, Malcolm McLaren. Over the years, McLaren has been a pioneer in both the music and fashion scene including his participation with bands such as The New York Dolls and the Sex Pistols as well as working closely with Vivenne Westwood on various retail outlets. While McLaren’s efforts were seen mostly in the late 70s and 80s, his effect and participation has been unparalleled. The feature can be seen here.

I like the idea but R.I.P. to Keith Haring… most of US grew up w/ his art on Nick and Nick Jr commercials etc.

Do your research if you don’t know something, people.

    WAKE-UP!

ASK JOHNNY ROTTEN WHAT HE THINKS ABOUT ALL THIS.

Johnny Rotten’s too busy doing wack adverts for country life butter to give a white dog turd about any of this!

its all good. he’s paid his dues a long time ago. dondi and keith would be happy the culture they fostered is WORLDWIDE.

try to look at it from a human/world/cultural perspective, not a closed streetwear/nike dunk mentality. “streetwear” etc is just a part of larger world culture, not matter how consumerist/shallow it may be.

they did it for the love back then, why not introduce it to the new generation in the only way they will accept it/ understand it.

More Like, ask Dondi White & Keith Haring what they think about this…..oh wait you can’t. I find this collaboration a bit disrespectful as there has been no mention of either Dondi or Keith Haring, the two late artists that designed these iconic images. I think Supreme decided to market Malcolm McLaren here, as streetwear kids have no idea who he is, and he seems “Artsy”. Has anyone forgotten how Malcolm McLaren has f***ed over some of the best artist’s of our time……I thought Supreme would have done their research first.
