Partnering with luxury fashion house Hermès, designboom launched the “les cravates par Hermès” necktie design contest earlier this month. The contest which is open to all participants on an international level invites designers from all walks of life to create the next bold and innovative pattern for Hermès. Both cash prizes and a royalty-based contract are at stake if they choose your particular design for use on their next collection of neckties. The contest registration will remain open until Saturday, August 1st. A template can downloaded here with a full run-down of information available at designboom.com/hermes.html.

    This is cool. I never thought such a high end name like Hermes would make a move like this. I dont know exactly how it would impact the brand, but its interesting to see them come off their HIGH HORSE to see a bunch amateur works. On another note their website is one of the best I have seen. Its interactive with games an all. check it out!
