Takashi Murakami moves himself away from his typical bright and bold styles which include a certain cartoon element as he previews his upcoming inochi exhibition. inochi is based on a 2002 movie by Shinohara Tetsuo with Murakami creating five different dolls for the exhibition which begins on Friday, April 3rd at the Kaikai Kiki Gallery.

    The short films are creepy as hell . . . n the dolls make me want to jam forks into my eyes, thus severing my retinas so i don’t see they’re freaky little faces every time i blink
