In the first interview following the stepping-down of Nigo as head of A Bathing Ape, he offers some information behind the move in the latest issue of WWD for Japan. Claiming that company re-structuring is common practice, it seems as though not all that much will change. The April 1st move fell in line with the original launch of NOWHERE back in April 1st of 1993. Nigo still maintains a creative role behind the brand as well as majority share owner. As well this latest announcement also featured the launch of a new company in the form of Nigo LD. Stay tuned for more details.

BAPE’s cartoony style just isn’t cool anymore. I was never really into it, although due to the styles and colours that have been popular, it seemed to fit well. Now, I just don’t see it, so either they have to leave all that stuff behind, or they’re going to fall further behind.

Company re-structuring is not a common practice, it is for companies that fail.
What’s next? Bail-Outs are Common Practice? Pshhh!
Hope to see you on the welfare line Nigo, only then would you be able to fully
understand the Hood/Hip Hop Struggle and Culture.
